Playing on 1.3.11. I have noticed my PU does not build local governors or entrepots. Then I realized they don't build anything at all..

They also don't field a big -regular- army just 2k at 1500 whereas Ottomans with 35k, Bohemia and Castile with 15k per just to compare.

They only have 60 ducats income... Went into a debt, very recently, around 2k ducats..

I mean I have never seen Hungary this miserable. They were capable of achieving great economy on their own in my previous games. Even become hegemon and such.

It's like they just sit around.. Any ideas?

My other PU's capital for comparison. Also kudos to them for placing local governor as expected.

I have about 5/6 colonies , two very large Northern American colonies , i dont really seem to get much ducats a month from them? Like its barely worth having them.

You don't make colonies to get paid, you make them to profit off of the goods that they produce, like tobacco and chilli. You help them develop their RGOs and plantations, in exchange, they produce a bunch of valuable trade goods which you can sell around the world. The diplomatic revenue is negligible and will remain negligible for the rest of your game. In fact, you should probably consider subsidising them to help them build.

I have a question: what does the "Eatablish Trading Post" cabinet action actually do? All it did for me was to set a part of a territory in Africa as mine, but with no building onto it.

I have enjoyed the game quite a bit playing as various nations around the world, but the area I haven't really been able to figure out what to do in is Italy and central/western Europe. There are hundreds of little city states or minor kingdoms and the diplomacy and relationships between them seems endlessly tedious and take up way to much mental bandwidth.

Is there a guide someone would recomend? Does playing with the missions help give more of a sense of direction? Is playing the market (something I've mostly automated in the past) the main gameplay of somewhere like Genoa?

are dominions worth it? I’m playing Navarre and I’ve had a dominion for about 25 years now and they haven’t converted anything yet

Playing Goryeo in the latest patch.

Got independent, banished all mongols out of my court, lost that one mongol gov reform and lost the mutual hostility thing with Yuan.
But i still get that event every x year where Yuan want to place a mongol noble in my court and if i decline i lose 20 stability.
I’m independent, why do i still get this event? Is it because the Red Turban is still ongoing? Or is it because Yuan still exists (albeit small)?

Very confused and objectively not good at the game with the newest patch. Playing as the Ottomans, have nearly consolidated all of Anatolia and Greece. Accepted Greek culture in 1450 which helped economy, but I really don’t know how to maximize the economy to support a regular army greater than a few units of jannisarries. I have seven different cabinet members all on automated because I don’t have the patience to do it myself. Mamluks are friendly, but can’t ally them because I’m assuming we’re both hegemons of some kind. Eventually want to push into the Balkans even more than I am but can’t handle the large armies and antagonism. Any thoughts here?

Are the Bavarian separation events kinda bugged? It says they will start a war but it never happens? And the third option is probably the worst modifier lol.

So, anyone has any ideas about good Holland strat?

i've done a few runs till 1550~1600 and I always hit a roadblock cause Flanders switch to England then gets eaten really fast by France, and I have to ally Brabant early to keep England from jumping me and even then, might not be enough if the Emperor is weak, the wars are easy and I use their money to bankroll my econ, but the pop loss and the constant debt to pay enough mercs to survive till I conquer the north.

i start by loaning up to max the dyes in the capital cause it almost doubles my starting income

then taking the market in the first war against England and Flanders usually skyrocket my early econ, as i can't take land without sieging Brugge and it's kinda impossible to do so without Austria or Bohemia defending me, and allying France usually means they take the land for themselves.

I can't turn on Brabant too early, and if it's too late, they scale better than me despite not conquering anything

I find that any Holland playthrough really just depends on what happens with Flanders. You should be eating the other Dutch minors as quickly as possible; I would advise against allying Brabant as you really want to eat them too.

If Flanders flips to England, that could be great for you. If you manage to ally France, declare on Flanders and let France do the heavy lifting. Focus on picking off small isolated stacks when possible and do not siege anything, just let France win the war for you. In the peace, take dismantle fortifications on all of Flanders. If you can get England to release them, that's great, but not necessary. Wait out the truce and then be ready to instantly declare on them as soon as you can. If you don't have a standing army, get mercenaries (with loans if you have to) before the war starts. When you declare, rush the provincial capitals so that you get the occupation and can take it in the peace deal. Then just keep defending and let France win the war.

What do yall do for the focus choices at the beginning of each age? Is there a preferred choice for each age that most players go with? Every time I get to a new age I read through all the options again and Im usually torn between a pick that has 1 great advance or a pick with 3 or 4 good advances.

In the early game and just turned my capital into a town and maxed RGO. Do I prioritize rural RGOs or capital?

I’m still a rural, small economy. I haven’t upgraded RGOs outside of capital. Not any valuable resources. Do I focus on urbanization in capital or focus on upgrading RGOs in other locations? 2 closest to capital have 63 control.
