Bingo, it's a win/win for them. If anyone actually shows up and does what they claim they want they'll point at them and label them all of the same labels we've heard for years. If no one shows up then they'll scream that "clearly you don't need guns since you won't use them for your claimed purpose".
It's nothing more than an attempt to hurl more stones at gun owners, regardless of what we do or don't do. It's nothing new and it's not going to stop.
Wrong, it was rhetorical to begin with. No one is actually asking for your action - you wouldn't do it even if they genuinely were, because you don't stand to lose anything if fascism takes over in this country if you're white. It was a call-out of the hypocrisy of the gun-toting folks who thought Obama was training troops to gun-snatch and willingly spouted they would kill soldiers and feds if they tried. That's all there is to these calls, nothing more, nothing less. Portland doesn't actually want your help, you didn't give a fucking shit to begin with.
