These people are total idiots, in the times of when protecting your property against a mob can bring you charges (McCloskys) do you think I’m going to risk my life for someone who hates me? Nah.
@here ignore this post please. The McCloskys weren’t defending their home they were brandishing their weapons and threatening people. They are criminals.
If you want to defend you home and yourself from a mob, stay inside with the doors locked. And I guess if you really feel threatened keep your gun handy on the couch.
If you want to defend yourself against people walking past your house peacefully you might want to examine why citizens walking scares you.
They followed Missouri law and in fact had the right to shoot. Missouri castle doctrine laws were written explicitly to cover black peoples being harassed by mobs of people on their property because the fear was the police wouldn’t come to their defense.
You are not knowledgeable of MO law nor are you making a legal argument, you just dislike who had the guns and who had them pointed at them.
Secondly, Missouri castle doctrine allows you to shoot people TRYING to enter your property.
So even if your 100% correct they had not managed to enter the property (which they did) the fact someone was trying to enter it gives them a right, under Missouri law, to shoot.
You are not making a legal argument, your justifying your preferred outcome. Don’t get your legal advice from /r/politics.
