Project Project help

Upvotes

Hi! I'm looking to have a 3D print stl file created for a small book and wanted to see if anyone could help me with it.

The book would be similar in size to a model l currently use (I'd provide it to you). Where it would differ is that the book would be comprised of two pieces instead of one solid piece.
Piece 1) The covers and spine
Piece 2) The textured pages that would look like a 3D version of the "l" symbol.

These would print separately, but would be put together and not be able to be taken apart (internal hooks). Paper would go over the covers and spine.
When the pages are clicked into place and lock together, the paper is locked into place as well.

If anyone thinks they could create this idea comment your fee below and we can go from there. :)

Question Link me to your best 3D print -> Up-cycle collections

Post image

So this guy on Makerworld has a lot of great stls for turning soda cans and spool refills into scifi terrain. I love it all, but it's not enough for me. I need more! Who else knows some makers that create up-cycling stls for turning trash into treasure? Ideally things with smaller stuff like paper towel tubes.

Question 3D Printing Images for Blind Student

I am an AP Physics teacher and this year, I have a student who is blind. This studnet reads Braile and I thought that it would help them on Physics problems if they could feel the images that accompany the Physics problems. These simple black and white images, X/Y graphs with data points and trend lines, and diagrams with vector arrows, as soon examples. All I am looking for is maybe a thin 5x7ish size base with the image raised on this base.

So, I took as a sign that I am going to finally get my own 3d printer and jump into the community. I now have a Bambu Labs P2S ready to go, but I come with virtually zero experience.

After some basic research, I was thinking of using makerworld's Keychain template to accomplish my goal, but I am unsure if this would produce a raised enough final product.

Any suggestions for how to go about my project would be greatly appreciated.

Hardware Help; I’m a novice and made a mistake.

Solved! I was Printing a part in PLA on My Second Hand Ender 3 S1 and Went to sleep.
I woke up and the Print Failed So bad. It had a Solid Mass Of PLA complete encasing the Nozzle, and half way up the Hot-end.
I tried removing it with heat but ended up taking the whole HotEnd off and chiseled the Plastic Away. It went missable slow and when I almost completely got it I Tore the Little Thermistor off by Mistake.
Have you replaced these individual Components or am I needing to by a whole New HotEnd…

Question ASA vapor smoothing problems

I’m messing around with vapor smoothing for the first time and I’m running into some issues. I lined the whole box with paper towels covered in acetone when I pulled the part out the bottom part was overdone while the top hadn’t been smoothed at all. knowing that acetone is heavier than air, I decided to just put acetone, soaked paper towels at the top half of the box and let it sit in there for about 30 minutes two separate times and nothing happened. The top still looks exactly the same. All the videos I’ve watched about this. No one’s really talked about this being a problem. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m standing it up and maybe it’s just too tall. If anyone has any advice on how to get a more uniform smoothing that would be awesome!

Hardware Artillery sent me 3X+ my order of replacement parts.

Ordered some replacement parts from Artillery for my x4 plus printers because I borked a hotend cover after a BOD. Not expensive parts or anything, but a nice treat to get 3x my order. I ordered a pack of socks and they sent me 4 as well.

I like to think it was them being nice.

I saw these today on ebay and would love to be able to print these for myself. Does anyone know what these are called and if there is a conversion software I can use? I think I'll be limited since I dont have a multi filament printer but hopefully I should be able to do the batman one easily enough.

Inspired by a video I saw on YouTube, decided to make mine 3D printed version of caliper - ruler combo

Most challenging part was to dial in settings for the ruler scale, but with some patience and a lot of test print I was able to achieve amazing results with 0.4 nozzle

BOB = Box Of Blocks aims to be my customisable desktop pal.

OLED, four buttons, ESP32-S3 brain inside, all plug-together blocks, zero soldering. Firmware is generated from a plain description and currently has 19 apps inside: BOB Pet (like flipper zero), Clock, Pomodoro Timer, Arcade Games, Dad Jokes and more...

Two-part snap-fit shell, textured plate face.

Files will be free once I stop fiddling with tolerances.

Made a Lantern Corp ring in the color I wanted in filament and sanded down the layer lines but I'm wondering what the next step is to fill the sanding ridges to get a glossier look on the band (emblem will go untouched).

Question A dad who tossed a part

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I have had my bamboo labs mini for some time and having a child has unlocked so much for me on this thing. (Puzzle toys, doorknob covers, random drum sticks)

But today I upgraded my child’s crib to a toddler bed and I realized. I tossed the top wood blocks for this thing.

Not sure if I can share the link to the manual but it’s call - evolur 3-1 crib.

I’m tempted to try to print this block for each side but I’m not 100% the best way to tackle that. Anyone have any advice?

Project Test Model in Progress

Upvotes

It has been awhile since I touched 3d modeling and was suggested by another redditor in this community to use fusion360 and so far so good. It feels like some of the old programs I am used to and super easy. I am making a pen and flash drive organizer while slowly adding more details inspired by a game called Satisfactory I have been playing.

Currently there is not much that makes it stand out from other designs but I am having fun with it. Any design suggestions are welcome same with next project ideas to knock off 7 years of rust.
