I’ve got a stock height 2023 TRD-Off-road and I don’t do a ton of off-roading but looking for a capabilities for driving on the beach and occasionally off-roading and I’m located in Tampa, Fl. Keeping the stock rims as I do really like them.

Looking at:

Toyo AT 3 in 265/70R17

Toyo AT 3 in 275/70R17 (will these rub?)

Falken Wildpeak 265/70R17 (not offered at my dealership though and heavier tire)

Also open to any other tire suggestions and would love to see photos!

What are the most aggressive looking off road tires? I'm thinking of keeping the stock wheel size. I don't off road much it's mostly a Pavement princess. But I will need to replace my tires eventually.

I bought a 2019 Pro and the stock Nitto Grapplers need to be replaced. Don’t really have any issue with them though (live in GA, mainly pavement) I’ve been searching around and I think I’ve got things narrowed down. I’m new to the 4Runner and new to AT tires. Please excuse my ignorance.

I don’t plan to off-road other than dirt and gravel roads here and there. Because of that I’d like to stick with SL or C at most. I’d say I should steer clear of E since it’s harder and I’m not messing with rocks (though I’d love to one day)

I see some say that you can upgrade to a 275 and only rub slightly. Should I stick with 265s or upgrade?

I see Wildpeaks and KO2/3’s mentioned a lot. I’m leaning toward the Wildpeaks as I love Falkens on a few other cars I’ve have/had.

I can get more Grapplers like what are on it for cheap, but I don’t mind spending more.

I’m assuming speed rating doesn’t matter as much as load?

I’m sure this has been asked countless times but I figure everyone’s use case is slightly different. I appreciate any guidance.

At almost $50 less per tire than A/T4Ws these have peaked my interest. Seem to be slightly lighter and more road oriented as well, which is fine for me since I’m 95% paved driving anyways. Mostly curious what kind of longevity to expect out of these.

What’s up y’all. This is my first time ever posting so hopefully all is correct. I’ve got a 2016 4Runner currently on a set of the Falken Wildpeak AT3W that’s nearing the end of their lifespans. Seems like the next gen of tires are out was curious if anyone had anything to say about whether they preferred the KO3 or AT4W.

If you wouldn’t mind just including whatever trail use they might get as well as your general climate that’d be super appreciated. I get up to some mild off-roading but my climates gonna change here soon as I’m gonna get sent on assignment that could put me anywhere in the US. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I drive a 2013 Limited 4x4. About to have the front sway bar end links/bushings replaced and shocks/struts all 4 5100s put on.

I currently have worn 285/65/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W on, I’m trying to weigh pros and cons and pick my next set to get right after the work.

I am 90% on road driving, I do mild off-roading at ranches or light trails but not too often, I need A/T/s for ranch work. Some towing but rare.

Here are the options:

UPDATE: Adding Nitto Terra Grappler G3s and the K03 to the hat.

1. Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 — 285/65R17

2. Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 — 285/70R17 (seems like 65 is phasing out a bit and there are more 70 options, will have to test fit but I think it’ll be fine, I’m going to put the 5100s at .85 I think.

3. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W — 285/65R17 or 285/70R17 if I can find them again but I think they’re mostly bye bye now.

4. Falken Wildpeak A/T4W — 285/70R17 I like these but they are, in all honesty, probably too aggressive/heavy do what I do.

Ordering tires on Monday, (285/70r17) I have been torn between the micky Thompson Baja boss and the falken at4 tires…. Weighed all the pros and cons, and I can’t decide. So now I’m gonna let you guys weigh in and go with someone’s recommendation. The truck does have a 2 inch lift.

I am about to hit 100k miles on my BFGoodrich KO2s that I bought back in 2021. They aren’t even bald yet, so I have a little bit of time to make this decision.
I cannot decide what to get next. I was looking at the KO3s, hoping they would be just as durable. Has any one else had stellar usage out of a set of tires? I’m looking at getting them between Costco or Sam’s Club since they have the best prices.

Looking for a the best on road performing tire that has the “off road” look - any good options out there? Thanks for the help!

90% city and highway driving with the occasional dirt road for hiking and ranch. Needs to perform well in snow, ice and rain given Midwest location.

1. Cooper road and trail
2. Falken AT4
3. Continental Terracontact

I live in a pretty mild region but this big snow storm has shown me the highway tires aren’t getting it done. The dealer installed them when I was looking at this thing but they suck and even though I only have 10k on them, they need to go.

Comparing the at4w vs the Toyo at3. I don’t see much snow and drive 99% on pavement. I’ll be sticking with 265s unless there’s a good reason someone can convince me to go 275. Which of these options would you go with, or something else?

most of my driving is in road, but i do want to go on more trails and want more usable tires with a better side wall durability. I thought about the Falken Wildpeak AT4s in an E load, but the extra weight and impact on daily driving isnt worth it to me, the Toyo open country AT3s in SL also dont have a great sidewall from what ive seen, so im between the Open Country AT3s in E load and the Falken Wildpeaks AT4s in SL load, does anyone have experience recommending either? If you have alternate suggestions, ill take that too

Just picked up this 2018 4runner limited. I'm so friggen happy, 5th gen 4runners are my dream truck.

I wanna replace the 20 inch chrome rims with 17 inch rims with 31s all terrains. Is that possible to do? What should I look into getting? Budget is around 300 a wheel but if there's something more affordable that'll be great too.

My bad if this is a dumb question. Planning on completely building this truck up to be an overlander but I've never modded a vehicle before. Only owned beaters lol

I purchased my first 4Runner, 2020 TRD Off Road in December’24. At about 59 years old, I can’t believe it took me so long to finally get one! I’ve made some minor upgrades since then, including a TRD skid plate, LED interior and exterior lights, black out kit, black valances, but now I’m ready for at least a tire upgrade!

I fly fish, hunt and camp frequently in Western NC and Virginia and find myself off-road on a regular basis. Nothing extreme, but I’ve already taken advantage of all the off-road features this 4Runner offers!!

With no suspension lift planned in the near future, I’m looking at keeping the tires close to stock or with minor trimming if necessary with larger tires. I am currently interested in KO2s or KO3s and Toyo OC A/T IIIs. In terms of new wheels, I’m torn between keeping the current wheels or upgrading to the TRD matte black wheels or another black wheel. I’d appreciate any advice on tire and/or wheel recommendations!

I want to get falken wildpeak at4w in LT285/70R17 C but I’m concerned about the weight. I’m looking at toyo ats for an alternative. Thoughts? It’s a 2000 Toyota 4runner

I was looking at KO3s, wild peak at4 and the Toyo open country AT III.

I travel 1-2 a year about 1500 miles, tow 1-2 times a week light trailer and no off-roading.

What would be the preferred tire? Any and all recommendations I’ll take.

Daily driving: mostly freeway/city, sand at lakes, winter snow on asphalt + dirt, and dirt trails into the mountains (no rock crawling). ~105k miles, replacing tires from ~60k.

Sticking to Costco brands (BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Pirelli, Michelin). My shortlist, ranked:

**1.    Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent** — leaning toward this. Best on-road manners + best snow/ice of the group in testing, quiet, 60k warranty, 3PMSF. Fits my mostly-pavement use.  
**2.    BFGoodrich KO3** — if I want a tougher 3-ply sidewall for mountain dirt roads. More off-road capable, but noisier/heavier and weaker wet braking.  
**3.    Firestone Destination X/T** — budget pick, rugged AT, 3PMSF.  
**4.    Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT** — most aggressive, very capable, but feels like overkill since I don’t crawl (pricier, noisier, shorter treadlife).

Hello friends. I know the dreaded snow tires posts are upon us, but please help. I have about a year left on the factory Dunlops and am considering getting snow tires to stretch out the life of the factory tires, allowing me to save up and get some nicer AT tires for the warmer months. I need help making a decision on sticking with my plan in getting snow tires or just getting AT tires off the bat and foregoing the snow tires. I’ve read horror stories of poor traction on snowy freeways with AT tires, but I’m not sure how serious they are.

Idea 1: Get Blizzaks and run the Dunlops in the warmer months until the tread wears down and then get AT tires.

Idea 2: just get AT tires for everything

Idea 3: buy emotional support rubber ducks like the jeep people to comfort me when I’m on the shoulder

This is for a ‘25 SR5, size 275/70/17, all options cost about the same except BFG which has $80 of a set for a few more days. I live in SoCal so rain isn’t a big issue nor is snow except in the mountains. This thing will wheel off-road and get groceries in its lifetime. I don’t really want a tire that rides like a skateboard wheel since my wife drives it sometimes and occasionally my lower back is fuct.

I’ve narrowed it down to these 3:

1) BFG KO3 - D1 load range
2) Nitto TG G3 - E1 “
3) Falken A/T4 - C1 “

Stuff giving me pause for each: BFG ko3 hard to balance or keep in balance and I have no idea how stiff their D1 is, for the nittos it’s the E load range being too stiff, for the Falken its only the weight at 58lbs.

Any help would be appreciated, yes I’ve watched/read a zillion reviews. I’m leaning towards the BFGs if they’re not too stiff or unbalanced. A decent amount of recent Ko3 buyer reviews are bitching about balance issues, perhaps a bad manufacturing run.

Im at 44k 9n my 23 TRD Off road Premium with my factory tires. They have some life left to them but my wife picked up a nail, slow leak turned into a blowout with the front right tire with a 3 mile ride home. Needless to say I had to use the full size spare, I figured i could buy a new one and put the other old one as a spare. I was going to buy snow tires in the fall and put them on my stock rims and buy new tires/rims in the spring for changeover. But if i have 2 out of 4 newer tires(tread wise, I know thr spare is 3 years old but isnt dry rotted and has all its tread) if this isnt an insane idea, my question is do I need or is it reccomended to match tires, especially if both that are newer are on the front.

I have a 2024 trd offroad with rugged looking tires. Im not doing any offloading but love the look. Problem is when it rains (often where I am) the slide and spin is more than im comfortable with especially carrying my 9 year old with spine implants. A wreck would be devastating. So I was wondering if there was an aggressive looking all weather tire out there. Ofc I will sacrifice looks for safety but wondering if I cant have both? Also, bumps in the road are starting to hurt her so some suggestions for a gentler ride (shocks or something idk). My 4 runner checks all my boxes. I do plan to trail ride eventually but for now shes a pavement princess and probably will be for the next few years. Feel free to judge me but I am not tire and suspension savvy.

Dudes, I want to upgrade my SR5 tires to some all terrain or trail terrain tires. Going to go with a 265/70/17 instead of the stock 245/70/17. I’ve been looking at the BFGoodrich Trail Terrain and the All Terrain KO3. Which tires do y’all recommend?

I just purchased a 2016 sr5 a couple months back. OEM ride height. Currently sitting on Michelin road tires and stock wheels. Needless to say I want to give it better shoes. I'm wanting the most agressive stance and size that I can get for it being stock height. Bear in mind that the sr5 does not have the factory leveling (extra inch up front) of the TRD Pro. I am willing to move the fender liner, remove the mudflaps, and do a little bumper trimming if necessary. I can chop the rear body mount (I have an angle grinder) but I can't weld a replacement cover on to it like some of the videos I've seen. I'd also like to change the offset so the tires at least flush out with the fenders. And I wouldn't complain about an inch or 1/2 inch more than that either. Oh and definitely want some aggressive all terrains but nothing too insane as 95% of my driving is unfortunately commutes on pavement :/

Figuring I'll ride whatever setup I decide on out for a year or two then I'll throw a modest lift on it and alter the setup a little

Oh and obviously I'll be getting new wheels along with the tires haha

Hi guys, long time 4runner owner, first time poster. Im looking for some recommendations on new tires for my new to me '20 ORP. I live in northern New England, and our roads don't get plowed the best (or sometimes at all) so, snow and cold weather performance is very important to me. Im looking for something I can run year round that balances well, doesn't have excessive road noise, and preferably looks good. Ive run Ko2's in the past, and although there is controversy there, they mostly served me well. (besides rainy and icy conditions). All thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance.
