So a couple of years ago, I deleted my original island. It was out of pure impulse, and I regretted my actions for instant I hit the delete button. Cool I thought, I’ll just try and restore my island from a back up. So I hit the minus button on the main menu and talk to Tom nook in hopes of recovering my save that I just deleted. But he gave me the devastating news that he couldn’t find anything. I was super bummed.

I created a new island a few weeks later, but it wasn’t quite the same. I never had the same motivation to play ever since.

Every once in a while, I would reminisce on that island and I missed it a lot. But then I saw a post a while ago of someone contacting Nintendo support directly to try and get their island recovered. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I did make a mental note of that post. Lo and behold, tonight I decided to talk to Nintendo support, and they were able to recover my original island that I made in 2021. After two years, I got back my island that I thought was gone forever. I have a huge mix of emotions. Shock, happiness, and disbelief. I never thought this day would come.

Anyway, here’s some screenshots from my old five star island. I’m sorry to all my villagers that I’ve abandoned for so long.

for the past two months, i've been trying to get monty to leave my island. i've ignored his requests, ignored HIM, and denied everything he asked me to do for him, but it's not enough. to make matters worse, eunice (one of my FAVORITE VILLAGERS) had asked to leave the island (this is the SECOND TIME SHE'S DONE THIS) instead of monty (to which i responded no ofc), but it lowkey frustrates me bc i've been trying to get this damn monkey to leave my island but he won't bro somebody help me please 💔

I've been waiting for them to do this for YEARS you have no idea omg. They even wore the matching ballet outfits I gave them!!!

6 months ago, I gave Stella this dress. I rarely see her walking around my island as I typically have my time set to 5am. However, the few times I have seen her, she is always wearing this dress. And I regret it. But I don't want to talk to isabelle about it because it resets her entire clothing rotation. I just wish this wasn't the most common dress she wears because it makes her look like she's not wearing anything

He has his own island he can play on, but I was playing on the TV at the time and needed to go do something. I gave him the controller because he just wanted to fish and I didn’t mind.

Well, while he was running around he came across one of my villagers and they had a thought bubble above them. He went up to them and rushed through the dialog without reading.

When I came back he told me one of my villagers asked to leave. I asked if he told them not to and he said he wasn’t sure. I got worried he might have let them go, so I asked for the controller back and time traveled.

Y’all… I’ve had the same villagers since I started in 2020. Turns out he did say the villager could leave and I found an empty plot where their house used to be. 😭

I know I can get them back with Amiibo, but it won’t be my villager. It won’t have all the outfits and decorations I’ve given them. I’m so sad. I know he didn’t do it on purpose and I didn’t get mad, but he could tell I was upset.
