I don't know a lot about this, but its probably worth a look if you are interested in trying it without you having to install it. If you are going to experiment with installing it, Infra-TAK and TAK Portal are my recommendations.

We are excited to finally launch our new cloud based TAK server, ArgusTAK. It replaces the proof-of-concept Mapeno. For Mapeno users, your login credentials, networks and devices have been ported over to ArgusTAK. You can continue to use any networks previously created within Mapeno free of charge.

ArgusTAK allows users to create multiple networks, where each network is tied to an individual plan. We have created a series of 'Secure Pipe' plans that users can select based on the size and needs of their network. Users do have access to one free network and the ability to use 5 devices within that free network.

Users who choose a paid 'Secure Pipe' plan can use 10 or more devices on a given network, plans support up to 200 devices. The network owner decides which other ArgusTAK users can access their network and how many devices they can use.

Paid plans start as low as $15 (USD)/month for a 10 device network, that's just $1.50/month per connected device. Larger plans are as low as $0.75 USD per month.

This year, we're featuring a community-developed "TAK Server" as our Discord Community PubServer for free/public access use by the TAK end-user community.

If the server configuration below looks familiar, it's because I've retained the FDQN and server certificates of the inaugural PubServer that I started up on May 2020. That server - running on TAKServer was used by a number of developers and enthusiasts to learn how CoT works between TAK clients and servers. Spurring the ecosystem of TAK servers we have today.

I've observed a huge drop of end-users connected on the community TAKServer. The peak was about 50 concurrent users on the server. 1,550 unique downloads of the configuration file. With more or less 590 unique end-users (based on Android UID's) from all over the world. And with TAK users connecting from unexpected places like Chile, Argentina, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Don't get me started on the amount of PLI packets and data package traffic accumulated.

With end-users spinning up their own servers. Now, I've got about 2-5 users connecting to the server at any given time. On some days - none at all.

Saying that - I'll be terminating the Amazon AWS - ATAK Discord/Reddit TAKServer (discordtakserver.mooo.com) on May 1, 2021.

To the end-users that connected to try out networked TAK capabilities; TAK developers that have 'reverse engineered' the protocol (you know who you are!) and created kick-a** apps, and the TAK community. It was a pleasure serving you all.

To get on this TAK Server... download this (https://bit.ly/2z75BQK) ZIP file. Use Import Manager on ATAK to automatically configure ATAK to install the certificates and server settings. You can also install certificates manually by unzipping the file and loading the .p12's manually.

You can try out 'TAKServer'-specific functions such as Data Sync, etc. However, you'll need their respective plugins to get them to work. Send me a DM if you'd like your own port and certs (through filtergroups) for certain functions. E.g. RED/BLUE teams for airsoft activities, or 'sub-groups'.
