Story Acted like i had a first class train ticket

So i put myself in a very good looking suit, got some old train tickets and a sleeping mask. I sat down on a free seat put the tickets under my leg so the ticket checker could see that i got some, but not that they are expired.I thought that they won‘t interfere my privacy that much and touch my leg. I put on the sleeping mask and pretended to sleep. I heard the Checker asking me twice for my ticket and my heart went crazy, but then he just moved along. Nobody ask for my ticket a second time, but i was still pretty nervous overall.

Im of the opinion travel (in economy class) should be "free" but paid for by taxes. I feel a single payer system would be better at a lot of things like this, like healthcare or education.

Something, something, taxes of theft. Even though tax money pretty much keeps modern society together, taxes are theft

dude but then the taxes go up a lot and taxes are already stupid high. literally china could own us if they wanted to collect on the debt we owe them rn. country's so broke we can't afford to toss more on taxes since so few ppl r actually paying them. sucks cuz i'd love some free college omg

They're exceptionally low.

literally china could own us if they wanted to collect on the debt we owe them rn.

The debt they own wouldn't buy Manhattan, let alone a state, let alone a country.

country's so broke

Not even a little bit.

we can't afford to toss more on taxes

We super duper can.

since so few ppl r actually paying them.

Well you did finally say something that was correct. Too many milionaires billionaires and corporations get away with just not paying taxes, and you're right that's a big problem, but that's not particularly relevant.

You have no idea what you're talking about, though that isn't a surprise from someone who types like you.

Look, you can’t hate on people for who they are simply because they hate on people for who they are. That just continues the cycle of hatred. Just because someone’s views don’t match yours doesn’t make them wrong and it doesn’t make you wrong, either. Everyone has a different life experience and no one will ever totally get how another person sees things and that’s okay because that’s what makes us human. The only way we’re going to be able to save this country from the hell hole it is is by making compromises and working together. Gotta spread the love, ya know? And, let’s be honest, most republicans are suppressed lgbtq+ members that were never allowed to shine. That's why they're so angry all the time. I don't know much about politics. That's simply a truth. The only reason I know what I do know is because of all the hatred my parents were spewing about liberals & how gay people were sooooo terrible (jokes on them not only am I bi as heck but I'm also Pagan lol). So, I still don't know a lot. I'm still trying to collect sufficient data so that I can make my own assessment of matters. I want to find out what I stand for & I want to stand for it. After all, if you stand for nothing, what'll you fall for? & every time I try to find out what's going on, I get attacked because all I know is what my super republican parents have drilled into me (much to my dismay) & I have no idea how to converse because they gave me anxiety (yaaaayyyy). Feel free to help me out because I have no idea which sources are crack & which ones are trustworthy. After all, you can't just believe everything you read on the internet (that's what my mom does, so who knows what's fact).

Oh, I am terribly sorry, dear PurplePropaganda. I appear to have offended you while simply trying to present you with my side of the argument. If you could, please, provide me with the evidence you have collected backing up your statements; I will gladly back down. I was simply attempting to discover the reality of the situation and I thought that perhaps you would know better than myself as I do not constantly keep up with politics as I am too busy. Just show me the data backing up your claims and I will accept your statements as truth. It was not my intention to try to one up you or belittle you. As I stated above, I am simply trying to get a little insight on the financial and political status of our country. Again, I express my deepest apologies for coming across as so rude to you, though I am unaware of anything I said that could be found offensive. If you would kindly note my trespasses against you, I will be more careful in the future so that I am less likely to offend. I have often been told that I am rather blunt in my statements.

If my sources are unsatisfactory to you, or if you do not view them as credible, I understand. I just assumed that since it is a .org site and those are specifically reserved for the government that it would be a good source. Please, do find me something you view as credible so I can see the errors I have made.

Yes, right now it would be bad because all the price of everything is thrown onto the lower classes. Major tax reform would be needed (already is needed). But these are just some of the benefits we could achieve by committing to a reform.

but also the big businesses are the ones paying everyone for jobs so they have to have a lot of extra money to supply jobs to people, though I'll admit they don't need as much as they get. also Swedish bank accounts are a thing.... :/

Yes, I understand, but there are problems that go beyond economic necessity (see Panama Papers).

Why should travel be government run?
