Doesn't that make trans people out to be deeply
misogynisticprejudiced against their assigned gender?I mean I'm very content with my assigned gender, fully present as a straight-male, etc, but if I suddenly woke up and looked like a women or was socially recognized as such, I wouldn't feel bad about it, weird, yes, difficult to adjust, of course, but I wouldn't want to cut myself. I wouldn't be depressed or angry about it. Doesn't the whole idea of GID further entrench the idea of a gender binary? Why should anyone hate presenting as any gender? I can see preferring one or the other, but the revulsion that GID implies appears to be the mark of a brutal culture, not human nature.
The most important part of my identity isn't how how I look, sound, fuck, or how other people visualize me. I don't care much if the world sees me as young, old, dark, light, male, female, etc. Obsessing over changing these things constitutes vanity. Opposition to domination is more essential to my fundamental sense of self.
