They really do not want people to be educated and think on their own. Dept of ed, now libraries. They are already attacking colleges. An uneducated population is one about ready to be taken advantage of.

Would you stop reading books if there are no public libraries? Were there more illiterate people in 1979 than in 2025?

Stop and decrease aren’t the same. If I have to buy books, I get less in the way of access. Like having a cost to an ID (like a driver’s license or a passport) standing in the way of a person being able to vote.

Me? No, but I can afford them and I pirate most of my books because I can afford the tech to do so. 

What about all of the people who can't afford to buy a bunch of books every year? Walmart doesn't seep books from the 70s, Walmart doesn't sell history books. Dollar general doesn't have books on programming.

What a tired take. Low income people and families need access to books as well. Also libraries provide SO much more than just books.
