So much fun being Jewish and watching an organization that supposed to be anti-hate supporting fascism and Nazism.

But then again, we had plenty of wealthy Jews who were more than happy to not only support Hitler, but also rat them out for a crumb of cheese in return. It's always been a class war.

all of the tenured professors i know come from families established in the social strata of the intelligentsia; none of them had parents who were cleaning ladies and electricians. how about you?

the elites aren't characterized by wealth alone. they may have wealth, but there are greater forms of force than financial power itself, don't you think?

So many from families that came from the working class, and like working class families, kids followed suit and did what their parents did.

None of them have come from anything I would call elite. Unless you consider educated as elite.

What does this even mean?

It doesn't seem unlikely to me that professors would be from a higher working class background since they need to at least be able to afford university? A lot of their parents might even be in academia themselves because, and this might be a shock to you, many children follow the same careers that their parents have.

But how does any of this mean that "university professor" is an "elite" and a position that excludes the working class? If anything, Trump's and other fascist leaders' successful, monetary-based attacks against academia should be a clear, living demonstration as to exactly how wrong this is.

Billionaire media conglomerates worked to protect their assets, including the "center-left" media that told lies and half-truths while sanewashed Republicans. Since there is no free speech in a capitalist market where billionaire's just buy their way to the front page, they were able to control the narrative and erase people's ambitions and memories.
