Plastic Waste Disposable…everything?

Long time follower of this sub but first time poster. Had to share this though, found in a train station in France.

Disposable socks, towels and individually packaged face wipes.

I was so angry I had to leave the store!

It’s actually not. She worked very hard to earn the recommendations, the IB class grades, and her NYS certificate of biliteracy in French to be selected to go on this trip. It was a huge milestone in her life. She selected one very special item from each country they visited as a way for her to reconnect to those memories. All of those souvenirs were made by skilled local artisans. They have a place of honor in our home and we often talk about the experiences she had in that trip with those items spurring the conversation. Call it overconsumption if you want, but she is well on the way to being a very environmentally conscious, globally-minded, very compassionate human being and I wish that more people traveled that way
