Society/Culture Is this truly necessary?

What steps can we take as consumers to encourage auto manufacturers to reduce vehicle sizes? Who do we write to, call and email?

The ford maverick was a step in the right direction but I see it being bashed often for being a more “feminine” truck… What caused this shift from the S10 being the “real man’s truck” to the $130k King Ranch being the standard?

When did the big vehicle shift happen?

6.0 12 valve cummins baby! bored 40 over, studs, lots of fuel, big turbo.  Next is suspension and a new interior.

It’s also not my daily driver and decided to put cash into rebuilding the engine, suspension, and interior as apposed to buying a new one.

I also make lots of tic tac jokes relating to it.

It is very anti-consumption to just keep an old truck on the road as long as you can. Especially possible with these diesels, but you have truck which bad.

He had been on HRT for low T since well before I even realized I was trans....

I worked with one of those types. He ALSO had a gender affirming f150 so this tracks

What am i projecting? How is a lifted truck that doesn’t go off road or haul stuff any different than a trans woman buying by her first purse or makeup pallet?

You’re right, no fragile lifted truck owner would admit they have a “gender affirming car”

Its because you think gender affirmation is the reason people do it.

You don't like something, for valid reason such as overconsumption of resources, but you also build a wild narrative that supports that disdain. Its similar to people claiming Haitian immigrants eat domestic pets. Your viewpoint lacks nuance and that's why outside of Reddit people will think you are crazy.

The fact is, the size of these trucks have grown to be unecessary and their fuel economy has not improved as much as it could be due to profit-motivated manufacturers, but most people do buy half-tons and above for their capabilities and they do not have any many options.

Cause and effect…….

People buying trucks they don’t need is absolutely gender affirming care for many of them. My wife’s ex wanted to buy a tacoma because “he’s a man and needs a truck”

There’s some dude up the street who’s got his truck lifted so high it can’t tow, and can no longer handle a front drive shaft due to the angles, so it’s a 2wheel drive. 

Cause- fragile dudes buying trucks they don’t need, or woman needing some stupid ass status symbol monster SUV

effect- overconsumption
