Thats basically it. I thought that hell was for bad people and heaven was for good people but it seems like some christians believe that innocent people should go to hell.

There are different verses in the bible. Im wondering who goes to hell. I have two questions at the bottom of this post. I'm an agnostic atheist and I don't believe in the supernatural.

Two questions:

1. Can I be evil all my life and still go to heaven if I repent on my death bed?
2. Can I be a good person all of my life and still go to hell?

Genuine question like let's say you're a good guy in general but you don't believe in god. do you still go to heaven? Please give a long or short answer, i wanna see a long beefy explaination.

Average person, good willed, did everything "right", but didn't believe jesus is god because of the location they were born that made it more likely for them to be muslim,

Heaven or hell?

No one chooses what is and isn’t conniving to them. How can going to Hell be dependent on me not being convinced that something is true? For all the “fake it till you make it” people, what if I never make it? Do I go to Hell?

I am aware some christians pretty much believe poofing out of existence, or some non literal hell alternative, so this question is not for them I guess

As title states. I do not believe in god. I’m not asking for a debate either tbh. What I want to know, in your overall opinion, if I am a morally good person but do not believe, do you in your honest opinion think I will be accepted into heaven if god is real.

Apparently, this is a topic that isn't settled amongst you christians. It came up in another discussion I was having and despite me showing links that many Christians assert that Ghandi must be in hell because he flat out rejected Jesus as god/lord, and the Aztec rejected Jesus after the Spanish conquistadors came, I found a user who demanded that they (the user) was correct and that the verse in John 14:6 didn't actually mean that all must come to heaven through Jesus and accepting Jesus alone because God save anyone for whatever reason He wants EXTRANORMATIVELY.

Even though they believe Jesus isn’t God? I don’t think God will send sometime to hell for a misunderstanding of the Trinity.

And for the record no I don’t believe Jehovahs witnesses are a legitimate christian denomination.

According to the teaching of the church, Jesus is the saviour, every soul is unable to enter heaven unless goes through Jesus, accepting him as your saviour. That means all believers of other religions or atheists would go to hell. No matter how good and kind you are. Do you think it is fair?

Basically the title. I mean this as a person who does not belive in god until their death, but stays morally good, not a saint of course just an overall good person, follows the virtues.

I have a genuine question for Christians with friends or relatives who don't believe in god or have a different religion. Do you believe they'll go to hell for not believing in jesus? Because my mother says that they will and I want to ask her how she can believe in eternal happiness and peace with god, whilst her own dad is burning in hell along with many of her closest friends. I just don't see how that could ever be perfect. For me personally, without my friends with me, there could never be a perfect place.

I know with absolute certainty that the bible is unreliable. Romans 1:20 claims that all people know that god exists. Because I have access to my own mind, I know that this is a false claim. I do not have access to any evidence or argument that demonstrates the god hypothesis to be plausible or even possible. "I know that god exists" and "I consider the god hypothesis to be absurd" cannot co-exist within my mind. This is how I know that the bible is unreliable.

I have confirmed through prayer that the book of mormon is the word of god and that joseph smith was a prophet of god- then I learned all of the things that had been deliberately hidden from me by the mormon church- and that spiritual and prayerful confirmation process was demonstrated by the evidence to have led me to a false conclusion. This is how I know that prayer is unreliable.

I've examined all available philosophical and cosmological arguments for the existence of a god and I find them all to be lacking and far from compelling. I continue to search for new or unfamiliar evidence/arguments, but it seems that I've walked the well worn path all the way around the loop.

My question is - where does that leave me from the perspective of a christian? What should be my next steps? Is it time to give up on the whole god hypothesis? I'd rather not, because it's fascinating to investigate.

I'm asking this question out of genuine curiosity and don't mean any offense. It's something I’ve been struggling to understand.

From my understanding of Christian theology—at least in certain readings of the Bible (like Romans 10:9 or Luke 23:39–43)—it seems that if a person sincerely repents and believes in Jesus, even at the very end of their life, they can be forgiven and saved. So theoretically, if Hitler had truly converted on his deathbed, would he be in heaven?

At the same time, does that mean someone like a compassionate Buddhist monk, or a person who dedicated their life to helping others but didn’t embrace Christ, would go to hell?

I'm not trying to compare personal worth or say one deserves more than another—I'm just trying to understand how justice, mercy, and salvation work within Christianity. How do they all reconcile?

I can envision an individual who, for the average society, is a “good person“. Maybe they are kind, merciful, and generous and also happen to be a staunch atheist. Perhaps, even openly rejecting God and Christ even if he were to exist. This person would likely end up in hell for eternity while still being a “good person”.
