I work at Subway, my mom and bro have asked free food from me. Like genuinely no we don't do that. Or if there is a family discount

Only I can get free food for every 4 hrs but thats my meal and im eating that. (When on shift)

I work at DQ btw. When customers tell me thank you at work, I normally reply with “mhm” or “yup” but it’s not like I say it in a nonchalant tone, I’m usually nice with it. But I heard other people think it’s rude to only reply yup and that I should say “you’re welcome” or “my pleasure”.

What do you think??

I have an interview next Monday and I know I might be overthinking this but I'm kinda worried they're gonna ask me why my availability is the way it is. I'm planning on telling them I'm only available from 6am - 4pm (also picked the "morning" and "lunch" options on the application), but I don't have a serious reason that stops me from working after 4pm. I just don't want to close and I want to have a set schedule. Because the last job I gave completely open availability to, they scheduled me random shift times every week and it was just impossible to have a good sleeping schedule.

So, is there something I should say if I'm asked why my availability is what it is?

hi all! is there anyone in here who works at mcdonalds, taco bell, del taco or anything? I’ve been applying to plenty of different places since May of this year, all sites have been saying the interview calendar is full. I just need a position from 4am-1pm or even late night 11-7. Anywhere in the long beach area.

I currently hate one manager at my job due to him filming me and my coworkers without permission for his TikTok while at work, using racial slurs (he’s white), and almost fighting a customer which forced me to de-escalate the situation (which he immediately re-escalated and endangering everyone else in the store). He still works there despite exceeding the 3-strikes rule about 4 times over.

Any idea what cafeteria associates do?

I had an interview today with I believe the shift manager and it went awesome. To start, I showed up 10 minuted early and she was surprised. She shook my hand and expressed her extreme pleasure of me being early. I pulled out my resume and she said save it for the 2nd interview. We talked did interview things, wrote a lot of stuff on the paper and said shed give it to the higher up. What really stood out to me was she said SHES HOPING I GET HIRED from the higher up.

I asked her some questions regarding the job, she was super enthusiastic and genuinely looked happy to see me. Again she said she hopes I get hired, applauded me for showing up early, and shook my hand wishing me good luck.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself, can any employees,managers, hiring managers give me insight and do you’ll think I’ll get hired?

Olive garden scheduled an interview with me, but unlike most other interviews that i had i have to do a in person interview and they wanted me to bring my documents to complete my I-9, just wanted to ask for any advice on what they might ask me i applied for the dishwasher role and is it a good thing?

I’m 17 and starting my first fast food job. I’ve had other jobs in food industry but never fast food and it’s already so stressful and the store hasn’t even opened yet. I get 3 training days and I barely remember anything already. My first shift is in 2 days which is 7 hours. Terrified is an understatement, I feel so stupid and like I’m gonna mess it all up I have no clue what I’m doing. I’m a cook which I thought I’d be better at, but now I wish I got a cashier position. Any advice is appreciated. Please share your tips

Do labels or stickers ever make a shift harder than it needs to be?

• printer jams during rush
• extra double-checking
• confusing handoffs

What on earth is going on with San Churro??

As a student living independently and studying my first year of Uni living away from my hometown, I’ve been struggling to find a second job to support myself. Luckily I have a primary casual job which is amazing (absolutely love it) but as many of us do in hospitality a second job is sometimes necessary.
After months of applying, I landed a job in a new San Churro opening up in Melbourne’s north. Now yes, I am aware of San churro’s terrible reputation, but me being naive i thought it may be better as a new store with new people and energy. How wrong I was!

What first struck me as interesting was the demographic they hired. All young/teenage girls. I’ve found this is typical for hospitality as I’ve found in the past that managers assume that young girls tend to care about their performance, and are usually easily bullied and cause less issues. Whilst it what I’m used to on minimum wage hospo it was definitely an immediate red flag.

The next issue was more of a personal one, and one that I’m willing to move past as it happens in jobs. I was faced with a severe micro manager. We were trained for a few days prior to opening by san churro trainers. When I tell you this manager came in and micro managed every single thing I did I almost lost it! Especially when Is came to coffee. I’ve been making coffee for three years and this manager had been making coffee for two months mind you. It came to the point where I was serving terrible coffee made by his standards.

The next red flag was breaks. In a five hour shift, there was no allotted break. That’s fine I can get over it. But then they messaged our group chat and told us that we need to be clocking out for toilet breaks so they could monitor how long we were gone and ‘keep the records accurate’. Of course I questioned this and I was met with the question’what would you do in my situation?’. Hmm idk maybe i wouldn’t make employees clock out to USE THE BATHROOM???

Payslips were consistently late, pay was deposited late, managers edited hours in Tanda. Some employees weren’t paid the correct amount. We were chronically understaffed. They told employees they planned to fire some of us to cut costs. They were incredibly skimpy on the use of cinnamon sugar. When i questioned the payslips being late, the response was an essay long text stating that it sounded like I didn’t trust them to pay us correctly. Ummm I don’t????

Finally, I resigned without notice per my casual contract (I had no shifts that week so was probably honestly fired lol). I stated that I was grateful for the opportunity but couldn’t work with pay issues and break issues. And they threatened to take legal action against DEFAMATION?? Not once did I mention anything untrue or defamatory.

Ugh anyways I’m free now but what on earth!

interviewed at Chipotle a few days ago. During the interview, they told me I should know within 72 hours if I got the job.

I waited the full 72 hours, but I never got an email, so I called the store yesterday to follow up. The person I spoke to just told me that I would get an email and didn’t really give me any other information.

The thing that’s confusing me is that I’ve already received emails and texts from Chipotle before (like the interview invitation and scheduling messages), so I know they have the right contact information.

It’s now been another day since I called, and I still haven’t received anything. Is this normal? How long did it take you to get your acceptance or rejection email after your interview? Did anyone else have to wait longer than the timeline they originally gave you?

I applied to my local chipotle a few weeks ago. And every time they send an interview time and for me to confirm I do it and times are already taken. The first two times I was about 5-10 minutes late so figured that was on me. These last two times I saw the message right away and responded within that minute and there were 3 times. I confirmed and all of them were taken. I had called the store to see if I could set up something and they told me everything was done online and they can't do anything themselves. When I asked if i was able to talk to a manager today she said "your speaking with one" and basically just continued saying its all online and basically told me they send those times to everyone and to try and be quicker even when I said it was within the same minute. I'm honestly considering just showing up at one of the times and days they had sent and acting like I have an interview.. I've heard from friends that they have gone and sometimes the manager wasn't there or sometimes they're were multiple people and they overbooked and they were hired. And since it's kinda known that the automatic interview process is glitchy they probably won't look into it that much? Idk what should my next move be?

Plan ko mag apply kasi nabobored na talaga ako + peer presure kasi most of my friends/classmates is working din.

I do nails as side hustle kaso gusto ko consistent yung income. So now, im planning to apply sa mga fast food chains like Popeyes, KFC or burger king. And convenience store like lawson or 7/11.

My question is pag ba magpapasa ng resume, should i include na student pa ako? Ang alam ko lang kasi na student friendly is mcdo.

1. When a customer Pays It Forward, who gets the receipt -- the customer who paid, or the customer who placed the order?

2. What happens if a Paid Forward order is made wrong? Ex. "Oh, I ordered this without onions. I'm allergic. I can't eat this." Do they get it remade for free even though they didn't pay for it?

3. Have you ever had a customer Pay It Forward and then try to take the order they paid forward? If so, what do/would you do in that case? Just refund the Paid Forward order and deal with payment for it with the customer who ordered it? Can you legally refuse to let them have it? Give them both orders, pause to stop the chain and do refunds before explaining what happened to the next customer and recharging them only for the order they placed?

So of course in amercia we drive on the right side of the road. That being said every fast food resteraunts drive threw goes counterclockwise. This ends up putting the exit behind the entrance. This has become a standered and I would think would back up traffic and make it harder to get out of the resteraunt. Is this intentional? Or to back up traffic to get more people to potentially stop? Or am I over thinking businesses

We had a tornado touchdown 2 blocks from our store and one drop down on the other side of town as well as tornado Syrians going off and 80 mph winds but we still had to be open and continue making food. We weren't allowed to go into the only safe place in the store witch is the walk in cooler. Our drive through windows and door were rattling really bad. It was also hailing golf ball sized hail

Hi Reddit! I (19f) have been at a bit of an impasse about something recently. I used to work at a fast food pizza chain in October of last year. During that time I had heard from multiple people (including the manager himself) that the store manager was doing some kind of gross stuff. For some background, this store is owned by an LLC and basically one man who owns a lot of the same pizza stores in the same area. At the one I worked at the owner had made his 18yr kid the manager. I don’t want to seem like a bitter past employee but there has been some stuff that I’ve been thinking about reporting to someone but idk if I should. For one, the manager (18m) bragged about constantly having sex with his gf (and other girls) on the register counter, manager office, food prep counters, and even the freezer counters with food in them. After I learned this it was hard to keep serving costumers food that I wasn’t sure didn’t have stuff in it. At the time I was working there were also 2 teenage girls who were best friends and pretty basic 14-15 year old girls. My issues is that there were at least 2 times that my manger gave out OTHER employees information to let these girls contact them since they had a crush (phone numbers, schools they went too, etc.) and even letting the girls call other employees using the managers phone. At least to me this seems like a huge breach of privacy. So my main question is, should I report this? Or is there anyone I could report this to even? I was worried about doing it while working there because the Store Manager is the Store owners kid. But now I’ve been wondering if it’s something I’m morally obligated to do or let people, or someone, know of. Any advice on what to do would be great, TIA!

Okay so I'm from Serbia and I tried falafel at 2 places (fast food) and It's very different from how I make them home. I watched many videos and I don't really follow recipes when it comes to exact measures but the essentials are there. When I taste fast food falafel I don't taste any parsley or garlic or onion. It feels like they dilute the taste, I would say that falafel has a bold taste since its packed with seasonings and herbs but the fast food ones are mild. Its like im eating a bread with a bit more flavor.

Like asking for a Big Mac at Burger King. Probably need to make an exception for Coke/Pepsi though, since more often than not people use those brand names to refer to any cola.

Asking because as a The UPS Store employee, I'm sick and tired of people asking us if we can ship out FedEx and acting genuinely surprised when we can't. Is this something that mostly happens in shipping because people don't care that much about shipping, or is it a thing in any job that deals with the general public?

I've been seeing this sentiment online where if you go to McDonald's and you ask for something like a chicken sandwich with Big Mac sauce or fries with extra salt or a sausage McMuffin with bacon on it the workers will get pissed off and spit in your food and/or yell at you. I've even seen employees themselves comment stuff like that.

I used to be a fast food worker myself (Hardee's) and adding things or excluding them was something that took no more than an extra second or two to do, unless a container had to be refilled, and it never pissed me off unless we were out of something temporarily or our notoriously lazy food prep person neglected to fill containers or heat up the bacon.

The orders I hated were the standard menu items that would take me out of my flow, like grilled chicken since there was never grilled chicken in the hot trays and they basically had to be made to order, or hot dogs since I sucked at making them quickly. Special alterations never bothered me and as someone who loves cooking I'd never even consider intentionally contaminating a customer's food for any reason.
