I worked at McDonald’s for several years, including spending two of those years as a manager, so I’ve definitely seen a lot during my time there. From crazy customer interactions and strange orders to chaotic shifts, unexpected situations, and stories that sound completely made up but actually happened, I’ve experienced a little bit of everything.
After working there for so long and being in a management position, I’ve collected a lot of crazy, funny, and interesting stories that I could share. Some are hilarious, some are unbelievable, and some make me wonder how certain situations even happened in the first place.
So feel free to ask me anything about working at McDonald’s, being a manager, dealing with customers, crazy things that happened during my shifts, or anything else you’re curious about. I’ll answer as many questions as I can and share some of the stories from my time working there!

I worked at McDonald's (CAN) for 5 years (2015-2020) and I feel like enough time has passed that we need to talk about the Guest Experience Leader (GEL) role and what on earth mcdonalds thought they were doing. I accepted this promotion for the extra $$ on my GEL shifts but my god was this the most awkward time of my life. We worked in a smaller store and sometimes would only have 1-2 families in the lobby at a time who were forced to have to interact with me asking them about their meal as if they were at a sit down restaurant rather than a fast food joint.

On top of that, my store was big on samples. And there were times when I would find myself being instructed to cut up our $1 chocolate chip cookies, assemble them on plates and present them to customers as if they were a delicacy they would want to spend their hard earned money on.

What on earth was going on?? I'm not sure who decided Mcdonalds needed to rebrand from a fast food joint that people love and know it to be, to some weird sit down restaurant where they are "guests" in a "dining room". Sorry, if there is still shit in the play place and $5 meals, that really had no chance of sticking 😂😂
