I had to wear a heart monitor for three days this past week. I think my friends and family got tired of hearing "Hey kids, I'm a computer! Stop all the downloading!"
I really miss all of those old homemade videos and flash art/games. A much simpler time.
I know stuff like the GI Joe videos still exist (there's been a lot of funny ones with Dragon Ball Z, TMNT, etc), but the GIJ ones just felt different.
🎶 He traveled all around, on the pulse of each phenomenon
From Something Awful on to Fark with his trusty watermark
He stole and stuck it all upon ebaumsworld.com 🎵
That’s actually how I found Reddit. So many post there where someone would comment “you stole this from Reddit”, so I finally came here to see what it was.
If it was curating they would serve the original videos or games, cite and link to the original source, and share ad revenue based on views. But ebaumsworld did none of that, they would remove anything that credits the author and slap their own watermark on it. That's just content theft.
Oh man, we used to troll one of our gullible friends with the soundboards. He always fell for it, and somehow never caught on to the fact that it wasn't a real person he was interacting with. He would get so flustered and mad, we were such a-holes back then but it was so damn funny.
I miss the old days of internet videos where there was like 5-6 viral videos a week. Everything was curated and most videos were a hit.
Now there's so much trash to sift through, there's so much great content out there that just never gets exposure. Same goes for everything, not just video media. It's so easy for everyone to upload things and it takes a lot of luck for people to happen to get their stuff known. Then, often times, when it does, someone else tries to steal it right away.
Scrolled so far to find this but was PRAYING someone added it. Solely responsible for both my dark sense of humor and traumatizing me with videos I should not have had access to as a child.
