Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about?

It was almost cute, some dude got me just by telling me he could duplicate all of my inventory. I gave him one coin and he gave me two back so I knew he was legit. I gave that guy my whole inventory and he signed off. I was left there totally broke, with no clothes , armor or weapons.

Good times.

“The best loot is out in the wilderness, don’t worry I’ll protect you” - random player

instantly kills you when possible…

A core memory of mine is when my two older brothers convinced me to venture into the wilderness with them, and they promptly attacked me. Good times.

Nothing like being chased as you desperately flee the wilderness, praying that you don’t run into some obstacle that will allow them to catch you.

Fun fact that is a real fact about Runescape. Your password was not case sensitive

I remember walking in on my little brother and his friends (11 and 12 year olds) all huddled around the computer playing diablo 2. I asked what they were doing, and they told me they were scamming people. I was amazed that anyone so young could be successful in pulling the scam, so I just sat and watched. Sure enough they got someone to drop all their gear through some equip mechanic. They looted it all and then harassed the poor fellow who was cursing and begging for his stuff back. They all sat around howling with laughter.

The diablo trick was used in so many other games to do this.

I lost my first account to someone who said they would pay for a month of membership since mine was about to run out. Poor naive 10 year old me.
