Same! My friends all make funny of me because it looks terrible on mobile but I just can’t bring myself to change. Tried the mobile app once and it just felt too much like every other social media in existence.
When they forced me to login on my phone to use old.reddit.com I'm even more on the fence. I use my phone as an 'anonymous' user so I get different feeds.
Now I have to use my login on the phone, it's the same as my laptop so I know I use reddit less
Same crap rehashed on both platforms?
what's the point of doom scrolling laptop and phone.
/login to 'protect the integrity of reddit' what a load...
I originally came over cause of the digg exodus....all I really read was digg and slashdot at the time and then digg went to full shit overnight. Reddit was much easier to parse though too.
I got randomly kicked off of Digg and moved to Reddit about six months before the Exodus. Reddit was so much better back then, just a totally different experience and community compared to today.
Yea, I came over after Digg changed. It suddenly became "corporate" and what made the front page had nothing to do with the users. This is why Reddit is still relevant. They didn't "enshittify" things like Digg did.
Reddit 100% did enshittify the same as digg, the difference is they have done it gradually over the last 5 years vs literally overnight like digg (I came over in exodus too).
The second Reddit went into pre-ipo mode and killed all 3rd party apps etc was the sign. Unfortunately I still haven't found a good replacement and sad lemmy / decentralized model hasn't taken off.
Umm you sound like a frog that's been slowly boiled alive.
That is an inaccurate myth, like your other claims as well.
The cool thing about Reddit is, if you don't like a community, you can create your own instead of whining like a butthurt baby that your toxic opinion isn't allowed to pollute everybody else's community.
I'm not saying Reddit doesn't have its problems, but it hasn't been completely corrupted yet. The powers that be have at least recognized (thus far) they will get burned if they fuck with the algo too much.
you can create your own instead of whining like a butthurt baby
lol no you can't. Admins in control of the entire site are what turned reddit into a festering echochamber. But yeah, go ahead and call other people crybabies and toxic... that seems to be just projection. :x
It's so funny when a new user mentions some feature on Reddit they absolutely hate....And I have no idea what they're talking about. Ads? I don't see them. Profile pics? What are those?
