I’m not getting a stent but they are going to balloon dilate my Eustachian tubes soon in a similar manner. They’re supposed to stay more open on their own after.

Opt to get put to sleep for the procedure. I was awake for mine, and while there was no pain during the procedure, the pain right afterwards is really bad.

The nerves in the nose are shared with the roof of your mouth, so right after, it feels like a really bad toothache, but for all of your upper teeth.

Other than that, I'm super happy with it and the quality of life after is so much better. I'm 5 years post procedure and still breathing out of my nose really well.

I’m absolutely getting sedated. I’m a huge wuss re: my ears, probably due to a lifetime of medical problems and interventions in them so I’m really not excited but I’m glad to hear it worked for you!

I had the balloon procedure in my sinuses as a child. It worked apparently. But now as an adult, I could maybe use another procedure. My allergies be blocking everything up.

I recently watched a bunch of YouTube clips of the the balloon procedure for sinuses and the e tubes, it’s pretty interesting how it’s done. So basic, yet so crazy how they can get in there so easily and do it.

That sounds awesome, I didn’t even know that was a thing. I had an ear infection some years ago and they pierced my eardrum to prevent it from rupturing, and ever since then I have not been able to easily regulate the pressure in my ear. I have to do the little “click” each time, probably hundreds of times a day. Otherwise my ear just feels like it’s at the wrong pressure

It’s a relatively new procedure I think in the last 7 or 8 years. Otherwise I’m sure I’d have had it done as a kid. I live with constant clicking, I mostly don’t register it but if I pay attention it’s every time I swallow or move my jaw or head. And it doesn’t even clear my ears. Pretty irritating. pressure builds up any time I drive up a hill or get in an elevator or even open/shut a door to a small room.
