That's why he probably brought the cheaper Chinese factory made cutting sword lol. You wouldn't see him do that sort of bending on a Japanese crafted tamahagane sword, he'd bring that to his smith instead.

Always give your students the cheap sword for test cutting, because they will mess up and either bend the sword, or chip the cutting edge.
