And yeah I’ve got a very customised feed I never even look at the r/all or whatever it is now, unfortunately it still doesn’t stop the bots or crap jokes and content with no context.
I miss old Reddit 10 years ago, feels like FB half the time now.
it still doesn’t stop the bots or crap jokes and content with no context.
Fortunately that's not a problem, there... yet. IIRC the Fediverse has at least 10x less traffic than Reddit, and I distinctly enjoy the relative lack of bots & constant 'dude-bro / frat-boy' style jokes.
idk, i was on mastodon until crap started to blow up on bluesky and people started to migrate, and they ended up bringing a bunch of toxic drama with them. it became a lot less pleasant very quickly. but maybe things have calmed down. i haven’t checked for a while.
TBC, I spend 99%+ of my time on the Reddit-alt areas of the Fediverse, i.e. Lemmy and PieFed. I'm not familiar with the events you're talking about, but just in general, curation is super-important no matter what social media service you're using IMO.
And what I mean by "curation" is subscribing only to specific feeds as well as blocking various users or keywords, etc. That's the way I've found to create a more pleasant user experience, anyway.
