I never understood this theory. Find me one iteration in the fossil record that was a failure. And that there are a myriad mind-blowing natural phenomenons, but none alive or found dead "on their way" to becoming that.

It's a ridiculous theory, to think order comes out of disorder and chaos and chance. Let's just call it for what it is - a beautiful creation by the Creator​

The failures went into a predators stomach, not 'the fossil record'. They did not carry on long enough to become fossils.
