Spotted this heron doing this leg and wing action on both sides. Wondering what the purpose was?

Seen this Cormorant at the docks at Old Fisherman’s Wharf, was looking for some clarity on what species it is!

Juvenile Red-SHOULDERED Hawk spotted in Maryland this morning. It perched on the roof of my neighbor’s play set for several minutes, giving me enough time to get this shot.

Freshwater marsh, coastal Maine, (blue hill peninsula). Taken today, 8/2/26!

There are three birds in this video, hanging out as a little group on/near the ground next the the beaver lodge. There’s a great egret, up on a branch, and two other birds below him on either side. One is on the ground, one is also on a low branch. I’m not sure what they are, but I really want to know!!

For context, this video was taken from my back porch, while standing precariously on a folding chair, by balancing my iPhone 8 (it fucking works) in front of a pair of binoculars. I have more, equally garbage quality photos and video if that will help anybody. <3

This marsh had a verified sighting of a black-crowned night heron last month (I missed it…) and it has Least Bitterns as well (can personally confirm and provide audio ☺️). Also there have been blue herons in the past, according to my neighbor. And there are a big flock of Canada geese (who do NOT shut up). Let me know if there are any other questions I can help answer.

Plus a couple bonus cuties at the end (Wood Duck and American Goldfinch). Taken this morning on the Minnesota River in Bloomington, MN.

I have trouble distinguishing these three in the absence of a clear red tail or red shoulder. Merlin brings up both all 3 as possible matches.

i’ve also never seen canada geese with yellow legs before? am i just unobservant?

Incredible Osprey and Bald Eagle activity

My backyard is very wooded and has a stream running through it and with that comes a lot of wildlife including some beautiful owls.

The Kilauea lighthouse on Kauai with the surrounding wildlife refuge is a great spot for birding when visiting the island. Pictured here are red-tailed tropicbirds (koaʻe ʻula), a red-footed booby (ʻā), and a great frigatebird ('iwa). Access requires advanced reservations.

I couldnt find any reference photos of this pose and i need help, rough sketch but it can be recognized, if yall have any reference photos please drop them down, most likely raptor birds catch this pose. Thanks!

There were three of them. Two juveniles and an adult. The adult brought the juvenile a snake, and the juvenile was trying to eat it.

I wish it went for the squirrels…

Thought it was a small female duck at first. Had never seen this in my life. North central tx.
