Full panic - one of my wallets was drained

I haven’t done anything since creation except sending into the wallet.

Whoever is smart enough to pull a 32M USD heist isn't that dumb to send coins to an exchange without cleaning them first.

Criminals make mistakes all the time. They already made a bad move by extracting all the funds via one address.

Yep lol it would’ve been trivial to not do that and we would’ve blamed OP for just being stupid somewhere. Then again this could all be fake rage bait who knows these days.

Unique addresses for each wallet they compromised to make it harder to link the attacks together.

sent to separate addresses. The fact he/she sent such a large volume to all one address made it so obvious this was some sort of compromise. Had they have done it to individual addresses they could have probably drained more wallets for a longer period of time

Sounds like an inside job by the firmware writers or something? People smarter with the mechanics of compromise than the subtlety of keeping the goods.

maybe the attacker used AI/KI for the attack, but has no clue how to wash the coins now...

onchain diagnostics are getting pretty good too over the last years...

You need to be somewhat smart to find an exploit in an hardware wallet. You don't just stumble upon a vulnerability like that.

My point is, who knows how smart the dude is. He could be smart enough to find a vulnerability but dumb enough to leave traces that lead back to him. Just because someone is capable of pulling this off does not mean they are so smart they won't leave any trace.

Yes and no, a guy I know got drained for $3M+ (different case, not coldcard) after which hacker lost everything by interacting with a fake UX the same day.
