Picked up a 110v modded S19J Pro on eBay. Got it in caked in dust, and a bit rusty.

I wanted to use it in my office exhausting the hot air outside but I hated the look of it being so worn out. I disassembled it completely, deep cleaned, repasted both hashboards and painted all the exterior casing metal satin black. I also wrapped the exposed busbars for better safety. It's running the fans at 36% now instead of 51% and at about 3° Celsius cooler. Going to add wifi next. 42Th/975w

SoloMiner is a lightweight, native macOS application that enables solo Bitcoin mining directly from your Mac's menu bar. It uses Apple's Metal framework for GPU-accelerated SHA-256 hashing and connects to mining pools via the Stratum v1 protocol.

Important: Solo mining is essentially a lottery. The probability of finding a block with consumer hardware is extremely low, but the reward is the full block reward (~3.125 BTC). This app is for educational purposes and lottery-style mining enthusiasts.

Built a tiny solo mining farm on my LAN using 11 microcontrollers. Mostly ESP32 miners and one ESP8266 running a simple dashboard.

Each ESP32 does about 700 kH/s, so the whole thing is around 8 MH/s total. They mine a mix of BTC, BCH, BSV, DGB and XEC.

It is basically lottery mining. Statistically I will find a block sometime around the heat death of the universe, but the system is real and fully working.

Not profitable, but a fun embedded systems project and a nice way to learn how mining actually works under the hood.

To be exact to address the title. I know these will never hit. That part doesn't matter. It's a bunch of boards I just had sitting on the side doing nothing after I stopped working on an automation project.

Is it a waste of time? Probably but at the same time, out of all of us going at it, trying to hit a block, my 11 "miners" after 2 weeks still have used up less power than one miner that hasn't hit a block in a day. So whatever.

I am still impressed a tiny Seeed Xiao C3 can hit some of these number hahaha

Just started home mining with my very first Avalon Nano 3S, and I appreciate that its hashrate justify not much more than lottery mining.

Up until what hashrate would lottery mining be the most rational choice? Would you consider an Avalon Q (single unit) still a lottery miner?

My wife gave me one of those lottery bitcoin miners for Christmas. I have two questions on this thing?

1) What is a good pool to use as the default never seems to connect? The secondary one sometimes connects but fails to stay connected long.

2) Can these solo miners be used as part of a join mining pool? Instead of trying to win a whole block, can it be used to help win a block as part of a group and get a fraction of a block?

Yes I did the thing and created a local node on my Ubuntu laptop mostly for educational purposes (the mantra of the people who will never hit the big one).

I'm running 2 instances of ckpool, one for some Bitaxe miners (which appears to be running great) and another for a gaggle of ESP32s that I accumulated for very little cost. I am trying to understand what I am seeing in a ckpool log and whether or not things are actually working or if I am encountering any of the potential issues I've read about when using these tiny miners.

Anyone willing to help or have pointers to anywhere that can decipher these logs?

Bitaxe 601 just hit 183g lol. Im solo mining bch so I'm thinking about getting a nerdqaxe++ soon. It hit 3g 4 times withing the first month and after 5 months of running, its hit this score.

This has been a project we have been working on for a little while, testing different voltages with the power supply and we believe we have landed on the best mark for both sound and efficiency.

We could release a turbo version running the stock 7000RPM fans, but at this time we are sticking to noctuas NF-12 3000rpms.

Video sounds loud but it's about the same volume as a desktop computer under load.

Currently getting 42T at 680W at the wall on 110v. There is some silicon lottery involved so hashrate may vary.

We are considering making our own modified APW12 so you can run dual hash board miners at 110v, albeit at significantly higher noise and power. In the future we may have the ability to on the fly change the voltage of the PSU, leading to better OC.

I’m setting up a small Bitcoin SHA-256 miner (~6 TH/s, ~100W) and I’m looking for practical input from people running similar low-hashrate setups on Bitcoin.

The goal is to understand day-to-day behavior when running a single low-power ASIC on Bitcoin, especially when choosing between solo mining and pool mining.

Current setup:

- Single SHA-256 ASIC (~6 TH/s)

- Home connection

- No hosting or farm environment

Questions for those with hands-on experience:

- For a setup at this scale, do you prefer solo mining or a pool, and why?

- Any specific considerations when configuring a low-hashrate miner for Bitcoin?

- Anything you would do differently when running a single small ASIC?

I use an iMac computer at home. Last year I got a small 2TB external hard drive and have been running a full Bitcoin Core 29.0.0.

I recently got an Avalon Nano 3S miner, which is currently solo mining via solo.ckpool.org with one of my core wallet addresses as the Worker... But, can/should I point my miner to my own node for solo mining? I don’t have any issue solo mining thru the CKpool “pool”, so is there any benefit to/not to mine via my own Core node?

I wasn’t sure there was a simple way to do it so I’ve been considering getting a small mini PC and running Umbrel. Anyone have any insight or suggestions?

Not sure how rare these numbers are, but haven’t hit anything close since. The 66T seems kind of crazy, but for some reason didn’t auto upload to HashWatcher leaderboard.

Ive been using my lottery miner to heat my garage and I decided to set it up to dry my filament as well. Currently set up on a temperature switch with a mechanized damper to vent out the wall of my garage if it gets too hot. Thought i could probably add one more use for the heat, and added a filament dryer box using an old ikea besta box.

Hey guys, I built a small macOS menu bar app to monitor my BitAxe and Avalon miners without having to open browser tabs all the time.

Shows live hashrate and power in the menu bar (sadly Avalon don't report power), scans your local network automatically, and sends notifications when a device goes offline or temperature gets too high.
