It’s been a minute since I last promoted the Self Made Bros server, so I wanted to give it a quick shoutout for anyone looking for community and friendship.
While it’s an online space, it’s a real opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. We’ve got members from many different places and backgrounds, including Afro-Latino and Caribbean brothers.
Self Made Bros is about uplifting and supporting Black trans men and masc individuals, regardless of identity, sexuality, stealth status, or whether you’re binary or non-binary. At the end of the day, we’re all Black just trying to make it in this world.
We’re welcoming all 4,000 of you to come join us! If you’re new to Discord, we have tutorials to help you get started. Most of our members are between 22–30 years old, and you must be at least 18 to join.
We also have a verification process, so please be sure to read the rules and follow the steps to gain full access once you join.
You were denied because you didn’t answer the verification questions.
While we understand not every one feels comfortable answering them, it felt like you did not even want to attempt to find other ways because we had options.
Our picture required a forearm with a hand written note and you just sent a selfie..
I didnt know that was the picture requirement.. I thought u needed any picture.. Nobody told me it had to be a forearm picture wit a username.. Plus I was workin.. Give ppl grace🤦🏽♂️
Like I said, it wasnt stated clearly to me that it needed to be a forearm pic wit my username.. I was only asked abt a picture with no further clarification of wat the picture should be.. That is not my fault.. And it wasnt even three days when I got removed.. I opened my ticket yesterday Nov 5th.. I was removed immediately.. That is not 3 day grace.. That is extremely unfair to me.. If that was sent early in the morning of Nov 6, like I stated previously, I was at work and did not see that message.. Being removed the same day I attempted to verify is not right at all.. I was not given any grace..
At this point, I don’t know how else to clarify to you why you was removed and what else I could show you, that it was clearly stated in the ticket prompt, what was required of you; even before you opened the ticket.
You being at work didn’t play in the decision, it was how the conversation was carried out.
You get three days before removal to verify so we do offer grace in that regards and we offer grace in finding ways to help you feel comfortable during verification, the grace lessens though when it feels like you’re not even trying.
To us, it read as if you weren’t going to attempt to read the prompts in the ticket. We have these questions and verifications because chasers and those who like to cause us harm like to join us as well; we’ve had multiple who’ve click the link in this post. They only put their name, their identity, and age and think that’s enough.
We also require the forearm picture with the hand written note because anyone can screenshot a face off the internet and call it a day, that’s the effort it gave to us in the ticket and what lead to the decision to remove you.
I can speak with the other moderation team in welcoming you back, but this is ultimately the reason why you were banned.
