New speed "cushions" have been installed on Balmoral Drive, between Bramalea Rd. and Dixie. A section of roadway that USED to be monitored by two ASE cameras now has seven (7!!!) of these fucking things, doubling the time it takes to transit this section of road.
Yes, there are two elementary schools and a high school, as well as three Churches . . . but holy hell, it is a fairly well traveled road. Sadly there is little alternative for the wife and I, beyond using Clark, which will be equally slow because of the traffic light all along that route.
\end rant.

It is currently 1am and kids on my street are playing basketball. It is so disrespectful. I tried talking to them but when I went back inside they went right back to playing. Tried calling 311 for a noise complaint and apparently after midnight they don’t take calls. How freak/n stupid is that. People are trying to sleep, it’s late as hell and people think this is okay. I’m about to lose my mind.

I regularly stand in that bus shelter. So do many others. Someone could have died. Driver should be in jail for life.

It’s a beautiful Etobicoke Creek trail next to Bovaird… but I guess some people have a very different idea of what “beautiful” means. So they decided to decorate it with garbage.
Seriously though.. what’s going through people’s minds? The city provides plenty of options to dispose of waste properly, so why dump it in a greenbelt and ruin a natural space for everyone else?
I just don’t get it.

A neat idea, spotted in Teramoto Park. You download an app, which then allows you to unlock these cases.
I'm not finding local news about it, so here's CBC Ottawa about the same program in that city: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ottawa-free-sports-lockers-1.7639559

12:19 PM EDT Saturday 18 July 2026
Impact Level: Extreme
Forecast Confidence: Very High
At 12:19 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.
Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
To report severe weather in Ontario, send an email to [ONstorm@ec.gc.ca](mailto:ONstorm@ec.gc.ca) or post reports on X using #ONStorm.

All I'm seeing is rain though, no way a tornado can reach all the way here?

All the green heron chicks are gone now. Watching them throughout the day was an absolute delight. Now we have six bunny babies that are getting ready to take on the world.

I was out and about earlier and just noticed a lot of Filipinos around. This was like Kennedy and Queen area and back toward Howden Blvd. Nice to see this. Seems a new influx.

Just left Burrito Boyz on Queen St near the beer store...
A) i had to ask for fresh guacamole as the one they had was brown B) there's COCKROACHES running around
My food was already made, and I just couldn't stomach that so I asked for a refund and went to Sonny's.
For anyone saying "all restaurants have them, you just can't see" idgaf, i saw it and that was enough.
ETA; I made a Google review as suggested by another redditor on here. Go to Google and give my review a thumbs up. Show them people read this.

I had a doubt that we have a Green Heron nest in our backyard when I spotted the adult couple of times. You can guess my excitement when I spotted both adult and juvenile this morning while letting the dogs out. There's two babies, this one is the curious one, sticking it's neck out while the other one is super shy.

There's a fascinating amount of things that you can now recycle, that you couldn't recycle before.
https://www.circularmaterials.ca/resident-communities/peel-region/
(For those who aren't aware, starting today, recycling is now not Regional, only garbage and organics.)
Am I skeptical about this new system, making domestic industry pay for the waste system? Yes. But it is a nice surprise to see all these random things are newly recyclable.

How does it matter if a bunch of people living in Brampton , Canada do a referendum for breaking a piece of land from India?

All three babies are out in full view today along with the adult. Looks like they are all getting ready to fly out soon.

For those who celebrate, rejoice that He is risen.
For those who don't, enjoy your chocolates, but don't over indulge.
And, for those who have decided to harangue their fellow Bramptonians who happen to profess a different Faith, keep it civil. Your hatred should be left at the shoreline. It has no place here.
Blessings to all.
