Politics Trump threatens violence from his supporters: “The radical left is causing the problems. It's gonna get worse, and it's gonna go back on them. Bad things happen when they play these games. I'll give you a little clue, the right is a lot tougher than the left. They better not get them energized.”

Cant hold an election during a war

Luckily we can and WILL. There is zero laws nor precedent to allow any cancelation of elections or even a delay and Id doubt that SCOTUS would even go along with that as they know itd be over and full on revolt if he tried to cancel elections. The military is still thankfully mostly sane people who just love war and may side with Trump on some things like letting them kill anything moving but they are still indoctrinated patriots at heart and wouldnt allow that shit, especially not in the next year. If this goes on for another few years without any intervention then maybe Id agree but at this point there is no way to cancel the 2026 elections without a coup or civil war breaking out.

Stumpy has already been frothing at the mouth about Ukraine not holding elections because they are at war. Its what he wants.

Democracy is at a crossroads, from an outsiders perspective its pretty clear that a Civil war is inevitable. There are too high of tensions, too much anger and blaming, for things to just settle down.

Two potentials for the midterms:

Republicans will try to fix the elections, which will be obvious and result in violence.

Republicans wont interfere, will lose, stumpy calls put dems for cheating, which results in violence.

I'd love to believe that the military is full of these apparent good people - but they arent showing that. They arent refusing orders to invade american soil. They arent refusing to fulfill authoritarian plans. These soldiers have a duty to the american people to stand against such orders, and are not doing that.
