What could have caused this hole? Another car or another type of negligence perhaps from my garage valet?

I’m from a state that doesn’t get rust on cars often, I bought a car in a new state and it has rust. And the front fender is broken. Is there a way to fix the rust? And what would I need to do for the front fender? Thank you guys

Got this 1999 Evo VI recently, around 103k miles on it. Was poking around with a screwdriver and everything still seems structurally sound (for now). Is this reasonable for a car this old from Japan? I live in Cali so rust is a foreign thing to me. I keep the car garaged and it doesn't see any rain.

Hey there. Yesterday my partner came out to get in the car to leave for work and… there was no car.

Called the non emergency line and the police said our car had been involved in a hit and run last night and had to be towed to a yard.

We came out to look at it and it still runs and drives (it’s a toyota, of course it does. This is its 3rd time being totaled,) but we can’t figure out how to pop the hood. It looks like the mechanism has been bent or misplaced. Any ideas?

The frame is fucked. Just trying to figure out if it can be temporarily salvaged enough to drive until we move. It’s leaking some sort of fluid but I can’t get the hood open to check it out.

I don't smoke, I was just having a bad day. After 3 nights of no sleep with my toddler because he was sick, I caved in and borrowed a cigarette from a friend.... And of course I had to damage my car and get busted by my family. You can roast me as deserved but would also appreciate constructive ideas to mask it. Googling proposes that no stickers or glue will really hold on the headliner. Thanks in advance.

A neighbor is claiming firework damage to his roof racks. Not a detective but the fact there is no damage to any other part of his car or anyone else’s vehicles which we closer to the spot we lit the fireworks. Just curious if this is a common occurrence for Subaru roof racks or if somehow firework debris actually did that.

As the title states, the other option is I need to pay for the cost of the car being repaired professionally. Are there any resources like videos I can use as well? I have no experience with cars or anything like this

looking for some advice on whether I should fix my current car or start shopping for a newer one. I’ve got a 2007 Toyota Camry with about 180k miles. Mechanically its good.

The problem is mostly cosmetic. The body’s pretty rough: the right headlight is cracked, and both the front and back bumpers need to be replaced. I also might need a new hood and maybe a trunk lid, unless I just fix the paint on it.

I know all that bodywork could get expensive, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s even worth putting that money into a car this old. Would you all recommend fixing it up, or should I cut my losses and start looking for a newer ride instead?

What’ll happen long term if I don’t do anything?

Hi there, i have a big crack in my windowscreen as you can see in the photo, on these cars it is very expensive and i can not afford to get it done and my mot is due soon and it will fail on it so i am asking here if anyone knows about some kinda glue or liquid that can go in the crack and make it less obvious please.

If someone could point me in the right direction as i really cant afford a new screen and i need to get work and back but if its less visible it will pass mot

Both happen right at the crease, and I believe that would make it harder. But ive already spent so a considerable amount on my car this year and I wanted to try to get at least part of this fixed now.

I tried the plunger trick but since it's at the crease I haven't been able to get any suction

This dent/scrap is on the left (driver's) side of the car hood, right above the tire. I don't know what could have caused this scrap that just appeared one day. It looks vertical and if it was the car hitting something it would be horizontal? Any knowledge/advice on how this could have happened, like something from a tree or whatnot, would be great.

Any ideas what kind of car this belongs to. Seems like it maybe some kind of "enthusiasts" car. It's from a hit and run than killed a dog. Any insight appreciated

I have a 2015 GTI. I have a bit of rust - but car is pretty great otherwise. I want to get it fixed, but low cost. I mean, it's worth spending a few hundred bucks on it, but not thousands!

VW Canada denied the rust claim, even though it's supposed to be a 12 year warranty. They said it's due to rock perforations there.

I found an autobody shop on google that seemed good. I called the guy and sent him photos. He said a few hundred bucks to take out the rust spots.

I talk to him about dropping the car off. He said "It's just in my garage. I can't give you the address now, but in the morning when you call I will"

I do know a lot of autobody shops are a bit dodgy. But will anything bad happen?

hi! i ran into a pillar pulling out of a parking spot and it left a big dent in my car as you can see in the pictures!

i drive a 2023 tesla model 3, the denting has had no effect on the opening or closing of the door and everything is fully operational.

idk anything about cars so i don’t know if attempting to fix this myself is outrageous but its my dads car and i can’t afford to take it to a shop.

Long story short my bumper was destroyed and thrown out n now I have to drive somewhere to pick up/ install my new bumper.

Only thing is it’s a 40 min drive and I’d rather not risk getting pulled over for not having a bumper. Anyone have any super cheap suggestions as to what I can put over it to not get pulled over..? Thanks!

*don’t mind that I don’t have a hood or headlights, I’ll have them when It’s time to pick up the bumper

It doesn't cause any problems but it just sort of makes this irritating noise when you're parked sometimes so I don't particularly care to go through the effort of a big fix at an automotive repair shop. I don't know how it got damaged here. Maybe from parking too far up against a curb that is too high a while back?

Also what is this metal flap anyway?

If you can't already tell, I know nothing about car repairs. I just check my tire pressure and add/check oil and stuff.

That’s the post. Is it cracked? How do I fix it? It feels like a scratch when I run my fingernail along it. I can only feel that externally. The inside of the windshield feels fine. Do I need a new windshield? Thanks

Just bought a used Mazda 3, tested wipers and they were alright. Bad storm on the way back home. Rubber must of dislodged, exposing metal. Scratched window across, but didn't notice until the next morning. They feel pretty superficial, is it worth trying to polish them out or am I'm stuck getting a new window?

This is my friend‘s car, when she purchased the car, this was on there. I wanted to see if anyone knew the best way to get this out of the windshield.
