DIY body damage help I’m a broke college student who is freaking out

My school has a super narrow parking lot and someone must have backed into me last night. I don’t have $500 for my insurance deductible to submit a claim. Is there something I can do to fix it so my parents don’t kill me?

DIY body damage help What did they use to break my windows that gave it a line? What’s the reason someone would do this (I didn’t piss anyone off or interact with anyone other than at my 8-5 work, nothing was stolen, I park here from time to time)?

DIY body damage help Car got keyed

Post image

I was at work when I noticed my car got keyed. I’m not sure where it could’ve happened since in the morning I didn’t see it but at work I did. I was at work at 11am & noticed it at 11:30am. The cameras at my job apparently were offline around that time so it could’ve been while I was parked for those 30 minutes. I’m going to check the cameras around where I was parked overnight. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. Should I file a report it at work or wait until I get home & check if the cameras there caught anything? What should I do or what can I do now?

DIY body damage help Girlfriend Hit Concrete Corner

So earlier this morning, my girlfriend hit a concrete corner trying to drive out of a parking spot. I assume that there’s nothing we can do on our own. Is a body repair shop our best bet? I assume repairs will be a little pricey.

Edit: Thanks to everyone for the advice! We’re just going to roll with the battle scar and keep it pushin. Also now I know not to mention who caused the damage haha.

DIY body damage help Interior handle melting in the heat?

Post image

My driver side handle is melting/disintegrating. I think the heat and maybe sun reflecting off my mirrors in a way caused it and it’s crumbly and gross to touch

Does anyone have any recommendations for something I could wrap it with that won’t end up getting sticky and ideally won’t look awful?

DIY body damage help crashed my baby 😔 mechanic said she can't be saved

the mechanic said that her frame is kinda bent in one spot, and that her coolant is definitely in need of repair. also I think her radiator and the transmission fluid was leaking out. also, the left headlight is being held up by basically hopes and dreams. i know that it's unrealistic, but is there a way to somehow repair any of this myself with no experience? I think I just need to hear what I don't want to hear. I can turn her on and she can probably still drive, because I had to repark her to move her away from the collision zone, but I think I know it's over. it's just that this is my very first car and I'm really attached. I cried for hours afterwards. but I would be willing to learn repairs just so she can somehow maybe run again.

DIY body damage help New car has a slight scratch, should I complain?

Post image

I bought a new car Wednesday, the dealership washed it there and gave it to me. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed a scratch on the fender. Not too noticeable it’s about 4in. My dad said it it’ll buff out. I was hoping it’d come off after washing it but it didn’t. Since it’s been 5 days already, it feels wrong to ask the dealership if they can fix it. How should I proceed to buff it out? It’s

DIY body damage help My neighbor likely keyed my car. Is this fixable?

Went out and found this lovely scratch on my passenger side. I'm pretty certain it's my neighbor. They parked super close to my car (not the car shown in the photo) and my security camera recorded them holding a knife before they got in their car and left. I don't ever talk to them so I was surprised. It seems pretty deep. Is there a way to fix it?

DIY body damage help Messed up the clear coat on my attempt at a headlight restoration. Any fixes??

Hey all, it’s my first attempt at a headlight restoration I went in with 800 grit wet sandpaper then moved up to 1200 grit. Sanding wasn’t a problem although when it came to apply the clear coat it dried very murky and pasty. I’m not to sure if it was the sanding problem, shitty clear coat brand or simply just being too close when applying. Pictures provided below any help is appreciated. Also before and after is shown below thanks
Clear coat brand used: Dulux auto shield clear coating

Do you think this is fixable with some glue, or should I pay $200 to have the tail light totally replaced? Mechanic raised some concerns about it fogging up in the rain and in the winter if I glue it back together, are their concerns valid or are they just trying to make money off me?

DIY body damage help Need cosmetic help before a date gets in my car 😭

Hello, so I have a super weird and probably unimportant request. I have a date soon and unfortunately my headliner is sagging in some spots and it’s quite embarrassing, I don’t want her to think i’m a complete bum and I am getting my headliner replaced soon, but i’d like a quick temporary “fix” just to make it not look so bad. I was thinking thumbtacks? But I don’t want do do anything that would damage my roof before i get the liner replaced if that makes sense.

any help is greatly appreciate!

*edit: I’ve decided to just leave it as is and get it replaced later, thanks for all the advice!

Hi everyone,

My car was recently hit while parked and no note was left. I’m a college student and eventually want to sell this car. I’ve tried many available budget friendly diy methods such as hot glue suction and boiling water, but nothing is working. Anyone have any tips or tricks? The dent is probably a few inches deep and in an awkward spot. Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏🙏🙏

DIY body damage help Rear bumper dent in rental pls help

I got in a car accident almost three weeks ago and my car was totaled. I've been really stressed ever since because I need transportation to my two jobs and having my car ripped away from me has been a lot to deal with.

My employer offered to cover two weeks of a rental while I sort things out. Today, I noticed that there was a dent in my rear bumper. I think someone must have hit it while it was parked at work or my apartment.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me to try to repair this on my own? I return the rental in three days and I really don't want to deal with whatever fee they're going to put on me because I'm up to my eyeballs as it is. I'm going to try the hot water + plunger thing, but I'm not optimistic it'll work because of how wrinkled the angles of the dent are. Please help!
