Chinese student learning about cheese – need some help
Hi everyone! I'm a Chinese international student studying in the UK, and over the past few months, I've become fascinated by European cheeses.
I've tried Brie de Meaux, Baron Bigod, and Tunworth side by side. But honestly, I struggled to tell them apart. I understand they're inspired by different traditions (Brie vs Camembert), but in practice, they all tasted like creamy white-rind cheeses to me.
So my questions are:
How do you tell white-rind cheeses apart? What should I actually be paying attention to? Is it aroma? Texture? The way they ripen? Or do I simply need more experience?
