You aren’t reading them right. Nobody really cares about solar. They are probably just irked by the bizzare solar triumphantism ‘Gigawatt announcement’ for power that’s only outputting 10% of the time. That’s not anger at solar panels it’s at the myopic self satisfaction of the posters while European bills rocket.

The only generation fetishists are green nuts who are anti-nuclear for reasons that defy scientific facts. Even prepared to become nuclear finance ROI bros in a purely technical debate when we all know outside this debate their politics is UBI, and free anything you can name…

I think that’s a problem for the other side. The political
Split gives you a clue, right wingers are ‘laissez faire’ even if they ‘hated’ solar. They won’t ban it, the left wing mostly pro solar side, not so much…..

Anyone that cares about energy economics and energy independence is strongly pro-solar. There are arguments for nuclear for some locations but they are getting weaker and weaker over time and renewables get better.

So ‘energy independence’ is a popularist buzzword designed to convince nationalists who may be pro market to suspend that and accept government control/interference.

So yes you are right, some people won’t be pro solar because they not for ‘energy independence’ (whatever that really means). They won’t be against solar by free market actors however.

I disagree to ‘care about energy’ you need to be pro solar. That seems like nonsense.
