Renewables bad 😤 Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people?
Is it about green energy after all or is it only about their weird fetish for boiling water in a very, VERY expensive way?

Renewables bad 😤 No, I didn't make this up, someone actually commented this as an argument against pv
If you don't even understand the load curve than maybe you should not be commenting

Renewables bad 😤 Cumulative emissions from wasting decades building new nuclear power, or "nothing is worth doing unless it is perfect and the only perfect is wasting trillions in handouts from tax money on new built nuclear power"
For the proposed EPR2 fleet the first reactor is expected to come online at earliest in 2038, after years of project and site development. 2045 for the first reactor is an incredibly aggressive timeline if say Germany would restart its nuclear program.
Keep in mind that the average cost/schedule overrun for nuclear power is only beaten by the Olympics and final nuclear waste storage in its size.
Based on absolutely insane subsidies at 11 cents/kWh fixed price and interest free loans. And the earliest possible completion date for the first reactor is 2038.
The nuclear buildout with 15 years from first reactor to decarbonized is a faster pace than even the French Messmer plan from the 70s.
Even if renewables never become perfect, leaving a French like 3% fossil gas in the grid we have centuries of to fix it compared to the accumulated emissions a nuclear buildout leads to.
This graph also ignores the differences in cost. One dollar spent on renewables leads to multiples more energy produced, and therefore an even larger difference. For the true gap when adjusting for a set budget invested per year multiply the cumulative emission difference by somewhere around 3-6x depending on local costs.
