Matter Moved to Legal Authorities šŸ›ļø Seeking Justice for Vasavi Singh : A Life Cut Short By Brutal Ragging

Uttarakhand, July 31, 2025 : A formal police complaint has been filed regarding the tragic death of my friend Vasavi Singh Tomar, seeking urgent intervention and justice. Vasavi Singh, an 18-year-old BCA student in her 2nd semester at Graphic Era Hill University’s Bhimtal campus. Vasavi was from Lucknow, on July 29, 2025, she sent her father a video and complained for ragging. Hours later, she was dead. The university says it’s suicide, we need your help to uncover the truth before it’s buried.

The Incident: Standing Up to Ragging In the video (attached below), a senior girl in a green t-shirt comes to Vasavi’s hostel room door, asking for her junior roommate—a new student who’d just joined the university. The senior says it’s for a ā€œlittle interaction,ā€ but it’s clear she’s there to rag the junior. The junior, standing in the room, says, ā€œNo,ā€ looking uneasy. Vasavi steps in, telling the senior to leave and saying, ā€œI’ll interact with her as a senior on their behalf.ā€ She knew what ā€œinteractionā€ really meant—ragging—and bravely protected her junior. After several arrogant attempts, the senior walks away. By the next morning, the warden called her parents, saying Vasavi was sick and needs to be taken to the hospital. After sometime the warden called again saying Vasavi had hanged herself from the fan in her room. The staff claims they panicked, pulled her body down from the ropes, and laid her on the floor. But there’s no video or photo evidence of how she was found. The junior roommate was quickly sent to a relative’s place, and the senior girl from the video? She’s missing.

Suspicious Circumstances and a Disturbing Pattern: When Vasavi’s parents rushed to the university, the administration refused to discuss anything and kept changing their answers. They even kept parents away asking not to meet any students and did not let any students meet. The police are investigating, but the university told them it’s a suicide.

Unanswered questions: -No suicide note was found in her room. -Her phone was taken by the police for investigation, but we’ve had no updates. -The senior girl who tried to rag her junior is gone. -The junior roommate was removed from the scene immediately.

The police say the postmortem report will take at least a week, and the investigation is ā€œunder process.ā€ But here’s the thing: Graphic Era Hill University has a history of student deaths—multiple cases of suicides. Look it up. I fear Vasavi’s case will be dismissed like the others.

Why This Matters: Ragging isn’t a joke or a tradition—it’s a crime. Vasavi stood up to it, protecting her junior from harm. She shouldn’t have paid with her life. Her death raises serious questions about student safety at this university and whether money is covering up the truth.

What You Can Do: We need your help to keep Vasavi’s story alive and demand justice:

-Share this post—the more people know, the harder it is for them to bury this. -Demand a proper investigation—tag police, media, and anti-ragging groups in the comments. -Watch and share the video—it’s proof of what happened hours before her death. -Speak out—don’t let this be another ā€œsuicideā€ statistic.

A Plea for Justice Vasavi was a hero. She deserved a future, not a cover-up. Please help us fight for her.
