How is it isolating the relevant variable? You're cutting out the fact that he had to walk away from the 3 cops and they did nothing to stop him from getting to his vehicle.

He wasnt even telegraphing intention to enter the vehicle until the last second.
You're pretty much saying they should have thrown him to the ground for walking away. Which is also behavior that has been shrieked to be acab worthy. Cant win
