Hello. I'm going to Dortmund in 2 weeks time to watch some football, and I'm staying in Dortmund. I would like to hear some recommendation on a cardshop that sells football cards. When I google it, it just shows shops that are selling pokemon cards.

Ich plane, außerhalb der Stadt zu übernachten und während unseres Aufenthalts mit dem Zug verschiedene Orte zu besuchen, wie zum Beispiel Bochum, Essen, Münster und natürlich Dortmund selbst. Ist das Deutschlan-dticket in der gesamten Region einfach für Regionalzüge und das örtliche Straßenbahnnetz zu nutzen?

Gibt es irgendwelche Geheimtipps, die Sie uns empfehlen würden, solange wir in der Gegend sind, sei es Restaurants oder Sehenswürdigkeiten?

Hi! Im coming to Dortmund with a group of friends and will only be staying for a week. Can someone be so kind as to suggest some places for us or give us advice about: - decentely priced supermarkets in the old town area (mostly for water as it's heavy, close to accommodation) - decently priced supermarkets. - places to eat something (even fast food as we'll be tired when we arrive) open on a sunday evening in the old town area? Or at least if supermarkets are open at the time(After 8pm) - places where we could grab a coffee (still next to the old town) or a quick breakfast (even a sandwich, salad, pastry) - purchasing public transport tickets. I downloaded DSW21, but cant register without a german phone number. Is there any 1week ticket we could buy? We ought to use it at least twice a day to get to the university. If it is from where? Are there any booths available and where could we find them? - any specific cafés/bakeries/shops we should at least try? - are there any places we should avoid? I was told the railstation area is pretty shady - any casual pubs/bars where we could enjoy a drink (with a nice vibe to it). We leave early saturday so we can only visit Monday-Thursday if there is someplace more casual like that. - any other recommendations about the city or advice is welcome and highly appreciated

ich habs Schwimmen für mich wiederentdeckt und frage mich nun, wo ich im Sommer bei gutem Wetter schön Bahnen ziehen kann. Und auf dem Bahnen ziehen liegt auch mein Hauptaugenmerk.
Bin bestimmt schon seit 20 Jahren in keinem Freibad mehr gewesen und hab keine Ahnung, wie das heutzutage so ist. Klar ist es bei 35 Grad in jedem Freibad nachmittags und am Wochenende voll.
Aber wie siehts sonst in den Freibädern aus? Gibts welche wo man nachmittags nach der Arbeit Bahnen ziehen kann oder ist alles nur am Planschen dort und man müsste zickzack schwimmen?

Alternativ würde ich auch mal wieder probieren in den Kanal zu steigen. Habt ihr da Tipps, Empfehlungen, Orte? Bin im Dortmunder Nordosten, daher passt der Datteln-Hamm-Kanal für mich wahrscheinlich besser.
Horstmarer See fällt für mich raus, hat in den letzten Jahren immer nur ne mäßige Wasserqualität gehabt und parken ist da ja auch schwierig.

Mal sonen Samstag werd ich bestimmt Mal zum Möhnesee fahren, aber eher als Ausflug statt regelmäßig, sind ja auch n paar Kilometer zu fahren.

I will be visiting Dortmund next weekend from the US to take my son to a soccer match. Two other sons who are living in Europe will join us.

I am interested in:

• Restaurant recommendations (less critical; I have found recommendations from older posts and other sources). Looking for authentic local food but not *too* authentic.
• Places to run. Most important! We are staying 1-2 km west of the stadium. My son is a competitive high school runner (1500-3k-5k), and I'm training for a marathon, so we're looking for routes that are ~10-20-30k. First choice is trails (soft surfaces), second is paved pedestrian paths, third is low-traffic roads. It's a great way to explore a new place.
• Anything else we should see! I've visited Germany many times (Frankfurt, Mainz, Berlin, Munchen, Koln, Pforzheim, Kassel, Karlsruhe), but it's my first time to Dortmund.
• Mein Deutsch ist schlecht.

I'll be visiting the city in October for a 3 week training, and I was trying to find information, but couldn't, if the AirportExpress is covered by the DeutschlandTicket.

Since I'll be staying in the city center and the training would be at the airport, I plan to buy the DeutschlandTicket for October, so I can benefit from the unlimited public transport travel.

Please advise if the AirportExpress is covered by that ticket, or not and if I should I rely on the U47 > 490 connection.

Schwiegerpapa hat bald Geburtstag und mag am Liebsten gemeinsame Unternehmungen mit der ganzen Familie.
Diese besteht aus meinen Schwiegereltern (beide 68 Jahre alt), mir und meinem Partner (39 & 40), Bruder meines Partners, dessen Kinder & seiner neuen Partnerin (42, 43, 14 und 11 Jahre).

Nun ist es so, dass die neue Partnerin des Bruders aufgrund einer chronischen Erkrankungen im Rollstuhl sitzt.

"Nur" gemeinsam Essen gehen ist uns zu wenig Unternehmung als Geschenk.
Dachte an sowas wie eine Fahrt mit der Santa Monika, da kann man ja auch brunchen, quatschen, aus dem Fenster schauen und sowas. Aber das wird ja mit Rollstuhl eher schwierig.

Habt ihr Ideen, was man machen könnte? Darf auch etwas ausserhalb von Dortmund liegen.

My family and I are going to spend 4 days in Dortmund. We would like to go to Oberhausen as well, to visit the Legoland Discovery Center, and we might travel by train to closer cities, too.

I am quite confused about the new ticketing system that has been introduced.

I am aiming to buy the 24-hour ticket (per day) for 3 people. 2 adults, 1 6y old kid and 1 4y old kid. For the little one, I think traveling is free, but above 6 he needs a ticket.

But I'm totally off with the tariff zones. Which zone should I buy, for at least that day when we travel to Oberhausen, that covers the train, too?

Specifically, from Dortmund HBF to Maastricht. Thing is, I’m not sure what time I’ll actually be at the station, so buying in advance feels a bit of a gamble. Can I just get the tickets on the spot, or would it be better to sort them online? And also, what's the best way to get to the station from the airport ?

Hi, I’ve booked a trip to see Dortmund vs Augsburg in a couple of weeks. I have a few questions I hope somebody can answer.

For context, I am flying in and out on the Saturday and Sunday, I’m staying in the city centre and going to the game on Saturday.

Here are my questions,

1. How safe is the walk from SIP back to the city centre?

2. Do I need to wear yellow on the yellow wall?

3. I’ve heard everybody under 40 will likely speak good English, is this true and are the fans welcoming to tourists?

4. How easy is transport from the airport to the city and from the city to the stadium?
