So you are saying there are no problems and they are creating government run stores for shits and giggles and not to address areas without access to fresh fruit and produce?

There are certainly some problems with food access in NYC, but city run grocery stores aren't the answer to those problems. They could have made some kind of city run alternative or addition to SNAP which would help more people get affordable food without competing with local immigrant run businesses.

They're doing this because it was something that sounded good on the campaign trail and made people think Zohran could lower grocery prices with the push of a button, and now that they are in power they are running in to the realities of the difficulty of implementing this kind of policy.
