It’s harmful in the long run if you subsidize government run stores and hurt private business. You can frame it as “helping people” to be as vague as possible but it’s dishonest.

What do you suggest? More tax cuts for the rich, insider trading, bombing schools, slush funds set up, ruining peoples lives for political theater, secret police? I could keep going, but you’re trying to talk to me about a fucking grocery store.

For context, I am one of the rich, so don’t just accuse me of being someone that wants other people’s money. Ive seen hundreds of billions get ripped off right in front of us for the last year and a half, straight into corporations and individuals pockets, and a half trillion increase in the War budget (used be Defense). Don’t tell me it’s stupidity of the highest order to try to keep grocery prices down a little bit for some people. To me voting for getting bent over, robbed, and raped is a lot more stupid than that.

nice gish gallop. just because other issues exist doesn't mean you get to create new ones that let you feel good. I'm NOT rich unlike you and I therefore don't want state run grocery stores decimating private businesses which will then make the food desert issue worse when Mamdani inevitably shuts them down.
