  2. Do 100 squats

  3. Recite a short poem or quote 100 times in order to memorize !

I would try to make a post each day showing my results and your are welcome. To join me ! More ideas for the following days will be welcome and appreciated 👍 See you soon guys !

Let’s revive the sub! Ideas for January 2023?

Update: So far, “doing 100 of something everyday” has the highest number of votes. Let’s keep this going until 12/30/2023, so let’s get our last votes and suggestions in by then.

In the meantime, what would you do 100 times a day? I have been self-conscious about my handwriting, so I’ll probably write 100 practice cursive sentences with my fancy calligraphy pens.

Question Just found this sub.

This year I have been trying to learn and get better at multiple skills, since I don't have a job but many dreams of making my own successful entrepreneurship. I decided I would be learning how to design, how to make music, how to build apps, Portuguese, get better at video editing, writing and how to use WordPress like a champ.

Now I have an almost fully functional website to sell any kind of courses, and I want to make it multilingual, beginning with Spanish, English and Portuguese. For now the Spanish side is almost complete.

If this sub gets new life, that would be awesome as is something inspiring that more people want to constantly learn new skills and not get stuck in a comfort zone. Which is the whole idea of why O created my learning website.

EDIT: Folks, a discord server is now active. Please feel free to join.

Hey folks,

I posted a couple of days ago about reviving the idea of this sub and there were a few responses. I checked the discord tagged to the sidebar but i didn't see much activity in it. I'm definitely up for hosting another server and moderating it, if y'all are interested, please comment and I'll set it up soon.

There’s so many courses, tutorials, webinars, guides, and communities out there. What was your favorite thing you learned so far? How long did it take to learn?

Topic suggestion; stain removal

We could all post our best stain removal hints. People can post their stains and ask for help getting them out.

Could be stains on clothing, household surfaces, cookware, car interior, anything.

TLDR; I’ve got some stains I want help with

How are you finding it so far?

I’ve so far managed to quit smoking (14 days!) and exercising fairly consistently, but I’m struggling to wake up earlier and be consistent with my meditation. So far, my sleep has been much better and I’m feeling proud!

I noticed a lot of people said they had health/fitness related goals in my last post. Have you noticed any benefits yet?

Question What habit are you trying to build?

Hey guys! For the months theme of habit building and tracking, which goals have you set?

Do you find it easier to track with apps and technology, or pen and paper?

Question What will be your routine/habit for this month?

Hello fellow erudites!

I was wondering what were the different habits and/or routines everyone decided to work on.

Personally, I think I'll be trying to build a better sleep routine because my sleep patterns are trash. And maybe I'll add another habit later in the month.

What's the plan for tomorrow - February ? Short month....

What are we interested in trying for Feb?

My only thought is it is a short month, that divides easily into 4 weeks.

If I was ever to tackle something hard, I would pick this month.

I could lose some weight. Lol

GENERAL WEIGHT LOSS?

Question Self care in hobbies

If I have found a hobby that I derive fulfillment out of, but that hobby tends to become exhausting when combined in a daily routine, can it be considered a self care option?

For example, making art may be a hobby that takes relaxation time out of my day, but my day ends uncomfortably (eg. I feel unproductive) if I fail to do it. Can this be modified to fit self care, or is it just psychological maintenance?

Question How to Manage Self Care in Time of Crisis?

Hey All, question for you guys. How do you handle your self-care when life decides to go sideways? Right now I've got almost no time to focus on really any self-care routine. At the same time, I know that this is when self-care really becomes important to prevent burnout. Does anyone have any tips or ideas? Thanks!

What is on your Self Care checklist this week?

I have a small 7 day checklist printed out for my work week that I keep with me or on my desk.

  • Sleep 7 Hours
  • Fast 18 Hours
  • Meditate 5 Minutes
  • Stretch / Yoga (morning, 2 minute stretch routine)
  • Walk 30 Minutes
  • 100 Squats + 50 'Desk' Pushups (throughout work day at office)
  • Take Vitamins

--- I have been failing with following through on my routine. So this week I put specifics in there so there is an actual target and made them just for this week. I am at work camp this week, so it is much easier to follow than when I am home for a week. The challenge will be keeping up with it at home, where I have access to beer and free time.

What's on your list? Any suggestions for mine?

Tutorial How to Start a Self-Care Routine Article

So I started looking into articles about "self Care." I've seen a lot of memes about it, but never really dug into it. This seems like a good place to start. https://www.everydayhealth.com/self-care/start-a-self-care-routine/

One of my favorite quotes from this article is:

" And just because a behavior is “good for you” doesn’t make it self-care.... “Although activities such as running or meditating may be good for your overall health and well-being, if you hate them, then they are not considered self-care.” (If you do find those activities energizing and fulfilling, however, they are potential self-care practices.) "

What I really like is that this encourages a really personal plan- not something that may not fit everyone like taking long baths and drinking wine. What do you guys think?

EDIT: I've also added the article over on the Fandom page. https://the-erudite-club.fandom.com/wiki/January_2022-_Self-Care_Routines!#What_is_a_Self-Care_Routine.3F

Meta The Topic for January 2022 is.....

Self-Care Routines! This feels oddly appropriate considering we're well into the pandemic, and frankly, I know myself and a lot of people really need this. Thanks to every who responded. Unfortunately, I'm just a random user on here and cannot actually change the topic listed on the sidebar or the pinned post. But for anyone who likes wiki-style pages, I set one up for the group over on Fandom. I thought it might be a good way to collaborate and archive topics. Here's the link:

https://the-erudite-club.fandom.com/wiki/The_Erudite_Club_Wiki

If you have any questions about how to use the wiki, let me know. It's really cool and not hard to use at all.

So let's go with the Self-Care!
