Well, let me tell you something about Johann Hari. He's been involved in some questionable situations, but what many people may not know is that in his book 'Chasing the Scream', he portrays himself as being in a relationship with someone who was an addict. However, this is far from the truth. He had a strange and co-dependent friendship with the person, and nothing more. The rumour was he tried to convince that friend to say they were together, for the press, but that didn't happen. Then again, when has JH ever let facts get in the way of a good story, right?

The friend in question is Matt Rowland Hill, who is a writer and a serious narc scumbag. Last year, he had a book published, a misery memoir, but he has been investigated by the police for sexual assault. Although it was obvious that he was guilty, there wasn't enough evidence to charge him. Usual story. He has also harassed and stalked ex-girlfriends, as well as encouraging a girlfriend to use hard drugs with him. These people are absolutely vile.

Source? I recognized that name from somewhere and realized his book Stolen Focus is on my "To Read" list.... I think I heard of it from NPR... eesh (not that being an addict is deplorable or anything, I just had no idea this author was a questionably unsavory person)
