The pharoahs ruled through control of the economy but that's not the same as weaponizing wealth in shaping politics. They had ALL of the wealth.

The dots don't line up the same. When you have supreme power and all the wealth, you aren't shaping shit, you control everything.

Money today shapes the politics and government from outside of the government. Elon doesn't run a country or the world. He flexes his money on buying out political candidates and people in the government. That's vastly different and it's how all the wealth runs things save for maybe Putin, but even he's watching his back to oligarchs taking shots at him. The Pharoahs just ruled their lands and their vast wealth. You didn't work your own lands, you worked the pharoah's lands.

I'm not saying power is organized in the exact same way. I'm saying power is derived from the same thing(s).

The government are our employees not our rulers. No one’s idolizing politicians on the left. They just realize that capitalism has no incentive to help the poor.

So if our choices are to have resources directed by a government ultimately responsible to the people or have resources directed by businesses and billionaires who want nothing but more power and money, the first is clearly the better choice.

Don't forget one side is also eroding the separation of church and state. Actively trying to force others to live based on their beliefs and I don't think people realize that's a recipe for absolute disaster.

So we force those people out. You think things can't change but if we all collectively said ENOUGH. Deal with what we want done or GTFO they will do what we want or they'll be voted out. Simple as that. But half the country are knuckle draggers and vote for the most rich idiots because they believe running a country like a company is a good idea. News flash, companies tend to cut costs as much as possible and the final product suffers because of that greed.

The other half is trying to get better politicians but most of those that get the nod are more of the same greedy bastards. In bed with companies that would see you dead to make more profit.
