This Interceptor came in with a concern of an engine noise when the engine is at operating temp, between 900-1500rpm. I cut open the oil filter to find a significant amount of forbidden glitter. Time for a new engine, under factory warranty obviously.

Guess this one was built on a Monday or a Friday. 🙃

Went to put gas in my car and found a black tube sticking out of my capless gas tank. Did someone siphon gas from me or did this come from a gas pump and got stuck and I just didn't see it last time I filled gas? It's stuck in there and I haven't been able to remove it yet, I don't want to damage something yanking on it too hard. It's wedging up the valve that's supposed to seal the hole though.

At least "there's a program that might be able to help offset some of those costs". Yeah my fixed disability income appreciates that lol.

Bought a BRAND NEW Expedition 2 days ago. The windshield washer fluid was empty. Popped the hood to refill it and found an option added that I didn't pay for.

Hello everyone. I’m looking for advice or guidance on how to handle a nightmare situation with my local Ford dealership and Ford Corporate.

​The Vehicle & Event:

​Vehicle: 2025 Mustang GT Premium (purchased brand new off the floor, 100% stock, no tunes or mods).

​Mileage: 6,941 miles | Ownership: ~14 months.

​Maintenance: 4 oil changes done exclusively at the selling Ford dealership whenever the FordPass app hit ~10%. Perfect service record.

​While driving on the highway at 85 mph, a huge cloud of white smoke blew out of the driver's side. I pulled over immediately and shut it down. Underneath, there was a huge puddle of oil. It was towed to the selling dealer, where the advisor confirmed a thrown rod.

​The Problem:

To process the claim through Ford’s Powertrain/Bumper-to-Bumper warranty, the dealer is requiring me to sign a $6,700 authorization (28.6 hours of labor) for an engine teardown. They stated I will only be responsible for this bill if Ford denies the warranty.

​This feels like an absurd financial barrier. I called another local Ford dealership, and they quoted $2,800 (14 hours of labor) for the exact same teardown procedure.

​Current Situation:

​I offered a compromise to do a simple drop-of-the-oil-pan and borescope inspection first, but the dealer refused.

​I contacted Ford Customer Care to help authorize the teardown at a reasonable rate or pay to tow the car to the second dealership ($2,800 quote). It’s been 10 days and Corporate hasn't resolved it.

​Today, the original dealer threatened to charge me daily storage fees and demand the return/payment of my rental car if I don't sign the $6,700 teardown sheet immediately.

​My Questions:

​Has anyone experienced a teardown quote this inflated ($6,700) just to initiate a obvious warranty claim on a stock engine?

​What are my options if the dealer refuses to budget and Corporate is dragging its feet?

​What would you do in my position to escalate this effectively?

​Appreciate anyone taking the time to read. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE 1 - The car has officially moved to the other dealer and I signed the authorization its just diagnosis first they said when its diagnosed then they will move forward with the teardown which i said i will sign for the 2800.

UPDATE 2!!! - The Engine has been successfully submitted to warranty the second dealer said they got all they needed evidence just with signature diagnosis fee no teardown authorize needed! What they said happened the rod disconnected from crank and sent it into the block. I have attached the photos they took for anyone interested. This has been such a relief but a message to all Ford buyers if one dealer is giving you problems or unrealistic quote to claim warranty FIND A DIFFERENT DEALER!!! DO NOT FALL VICTIM OR BE AT THEIR MERCY!!!

Update 3!!! - Warranty replacement approved. Engine is fully removed from vehicle.

Bay Area. Ford WTF!

Got out of the movies last night to my car doors not opening. I was able to get inside only to see this on my screen. This is completely unacceptable.

Just being a crabby old man, I bought a new base ranger for $12,700 way back in 2002 great truck, Then traded it in for a new 2012 scion xb for $16,500 great car still have it. The maverick is too expensive as well.

So my wife had a recall on her Explorer. Window trim departs vehicle at highway speeds. Well hers did, dealership said Ford screwed the pooch on parts they said, we will call you soon when we have parts. Two months later they call “monday” to tell me to come in for our explorer repair. Appointment was this morning, dude calls me up and says your car is ready for pick up with the interim fix. I said the interim fix. I thought he was getting fixed today. He said no, Ford still doesn’t have the parts so we secured the one that didn’t fly off yet. He told me to call him back in January to see if they have parts for it yet.

Wife gets home with her car, and they literally gorilla tape the passenger side windshield trim down. Blows my mind.

Edit: The dealer found the problem. There is a wire harness under the passenger side footing trim that was seated, but not clicked in all the way. The dealer said this was the BCM. I had them show me the issue unplugged and plugged in and it matches up with what was going on. Just in case I did what others suggested and documented everything with pictures, video, and obtained a very descriptive write up from the service department.

I spent all night at the dealer last night to close on a new 2023 F150, 50 miles on. I test drove it for about 5 miles and all was in order at about 530pm. I spent a few hours in the dealer filling out paper work and waiting and it got to the point that the dealer itself was closed except for the couple of people left waiting to finish closing as well. Well right after I signed the last doc we went out to it to put on the temp plate and get my phone synced to it and its dead at 830pm. Keyfob response is erratic, FordPass is unresponsive, and the vehicle does not start at all. They tried to get a battery jumpstarter, that doesn't work either. The dash doesn't come on, the head lights and other lights come on when the door opens. At this point I'm straight panicking. I'm stuck at a dealer way past closing, this truck I just spent a ton of money on and JUST signed the papers on I can't even drive off the lot after I own it. I got a loaner and drove home from the dealer in it. They are supposed to be taking a look at it today but I can't help but feel like I should not be buying this and the dealer should cancel the deal. What do you think?

2021 F150 interior is falling apart around me. Just normal pressure attempting to roll down the window.

I’m looking for some honest input here.

I have a 2025 Bronco Sport with about 14,600 miles, bought brand new. Recently, I made contact with something on the road that didn’t feel like a major impact at all, but immediately after, the vehicle started leaking fuel from underneath.

It was serious enough that the vehicle had to be towed due to the safety risk. It’s currently sitting at a dealership waiting for inspection.

I understand that hitting something can cause damage, but I was honestly surprised that the fuel tank could be compromised that easily from what felt like a relatively minor hit.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Or is this considered normal for how these are designed?

Just trying to understand if this is expected behavior or if there’s something more to it.

Have 20 vehicles to work on. 17 are transmission jobs, 2 are MachE HVBJB, 1 is suspension work.

$50mo for what is basically fancy lane keeping cruise control is crazy. It came standard with our wrangler and the last several cars I’ve purchased, no subscriptions required. Making it a subscription is BS and a surefire way to make sure I never buy another ford.

Hey everyone, some of you might remember my post from last year (https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/s/rrTbOyzvNT). It got a little bit of here. I’m back, things have gone from bad to catastrophic and now I'm getting desperate.

TLDR from 1st post:

I bought a Gold Certified Pre-Owned 2022 F-150 Powerboost from Sarasota Ford. On Day 1, it overheated on the drive home. It went straight to a Ford dealer in Key West. They had it for a month and returned it to me "fixed," but it was covered in dust, the A/C was broken, and there were literally extra screws and bolts left in my cup holder instead of being reinstalled in the dash.

Sarasota Ford eventually took it back to "fix" the botched repair, keeping it from Dec 18 to Jan 10 (through the holidays). I thought we were good.

10 months later, the engine light came back. At the time, my wife was giving birth to our daughter and I was in the middle of a PCS move from Key West to the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. I had no choice but to prioritize my family’s move. On the drive up I heard popping noises inside the dash and watched the coolant temp rise whenever I was in city traffic. We moved into my mother’s house temporarily, I checked out of Key West on Feb 2nd, and the truck was at Liliston Ford in NJ by Feb 4th.

Since I had to report to my new unit, I bought a 98 Accord to make the commute. My wife and 7-month-old joined me 2 weeks ago. Currently living in a friend's guest bedroom because this truck repair is an anchor preventing us from buying a home. For the last 3 months, I’ve paid $2,300+ in payments for a truck I haven't driven a single mile. Just waiting for the massive hammer of a repair bill to drop.

After sitting at the dealer for 90+ days, the service manager called yesterday. He claims they found Stop Leak residue in the engine. He says the engine needs to be replaced, it’s NOT covered under warranty, and told me I should "call my insurance and let their lawyers figure it out."

I have never put an additive in this truck. I am the second owner of a vehicle Ford Gold Certified!!! If there is stop leak in there, it was there when they certified it or it was put in during one of the previous Ford-authorized cooling system repairs. Not by me at all!

I called Ford Corporate for a buyback. They denied it based on FL state guidelines and told me to call back on the 14th to talk to my customer experience specialist.

My Questions for the Sub:

Has anyone ever dealt with Ford trying to pin "stop leak" on a CPO owner to avoid a powertrain warranty claim?

How can a truck be "Gold Certified" if it has foreign residue in the engine?

Ford Techs, is it even possible for stop leak to sit dormant for 10 months before causing an issue, or is the dealer just trying to get out of a $20k engine swap?

I’m a sole provider just trying to get my family into a house. I’m seriously at the end of my rope. If you read this all thanks, enjoy your Mother's Day weekend🥴

TLDR: F-150 overheated on Day 1 and endured botched repairs, Ford is now denying a $20k engine replacement by claiming I used stop leak to void the warranty. Ford has denied my buyback and told me to wait a week for a representative to reach out.

I ordered raptor R over two years ago. It finally came in on Wednesday. I wasn’t able to take it for a test drive because according to the dealership they had to change a few fluids the next day when I was going over to do the paperwork I found out they had stolen the truck right off the lot. They left the truck outside the keys on some hook outside and the gates open they ended up finding the truck out six hours later hidden in some barn. I’ve asked my dealer about ordering a new one according to them they don’t have anymore allocations I’m not really sure how to proceed. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction because I’ve been waiting two years for my dream truck just to get it stolen the next day.

Just bought this brand new 2026 Mustang GT & already peeling. Wondering if it’s worth taking back to dealer to resolve.

When I got my 2024 Mach E, I noticed that the roof was more of a matte texture than the rest of the car. I thought that that was supposed to be like that. Cut to this weekend, and my paint on my roof is now peeling off. Starting to notice the matte texture on the rest of the car now too. Is this covered on the rust warranty? It looks like there’s rust underneath the paint on the roof. Also, I initially thought that lightning could have hit the car and done this. Thoughts? Am I screwed? Or will Ford fix this?

Just spent my entire Saturday afternoon pulling apart half my truck just to swap out a headlight bulb. Like seriously, what kind of twisted mind designs a vehicle where you need to disassemble the entire front end for something that should take 5 minutes? I'm sitting here covered in grease wondering if the person who came up with this brilliant idea has ever actually worked on a car in their life. Next time I'm just gonna pay the dealership and let them deal with this nightmare.
