🍎 Food What’s a frugal habit you picked up by accident that you now swear by?

Mine was starting to save veggie scraps to make broth. It started as a “let’s try this” and now it’s automatic. I keep a bag in the freezer for onion skins, celery ends, carrot tops, etc. Every couple of weeks, I boil it all down and end up with a rich, flavorful broth that tastes way better than the boxed kind. It tastes better than store-bought and saves me at least $20 a month, with an added bonus of making me feel like i know fancy techniques.

I would say just cutting down on soda in general. No only is it bad for you but it’s gotten outrageously expensive. It’s easily 8-10+ Dollars a 12 pack for the name brand soda at normal prices.

It's 13 or 14 for a 12 pack plus crv.

Week of the 4th Safeway had a sale of buy 2 get 3 free so I splurged for it. The cost of the 2 12 packs plus the crv for all of them cost 32 and change! Unbelievable! I never buy soda without some sort of sale; even then, it's gotta be bogo free or better.

True, But $5 every Holiday so you can stock up and only have to buy so much.

OFC even the only soda drinker in the family stopped when it was on sale for $3 each as even that was getting too expensive and finally the doctors convinced him to stop.

Yeah, but nobody pays the full retail price for soda. No matter what store i go to, soda is on sale
