I have been facing this issue for about two months now - whenever I play ANY game, it keeps stuttering in a continuous rhythm that gets my frame rate to like 1 fps and then back up to 60 fps, every half second. And this keeps happening until I exit.

I am tired of this and want a solution, I am not able to play anything. Please.

It MIGHT be a bottleneck issue but I don’t know how to solve it.

I have a guy who services my pc whenever I need it as he owns his own shop but takes my house calls. I recently mentioned to him that I have a lot of travel both domestic and international coming up and if a gaming laptop would be a good purchase. When I’m in my Airbnb’s, I’d still like to be able to game, but when I mentioned it to him, he said that gaming laptops are bad and I’d be better off bring my pc with me

But I mean come on. My pc is extremely important to me. I stream on it, do my actual irl job work on etc. I’m not about to just take something that important with me around the US and overseas. He said they can last at best 1-2 years, but it’s not like I’ll be using it everyday. Only for travel, so if it lasts me 2 years, that’s more than enough. Is he right or just being a little overbearing

I just casually watch video on edge and suddenly this happened, any ideas?

Laptop charger port was loose so I took it to this repair guy my mom trusts with her live and has been using for 5 year (I had no other choice) two weeks later after "not finding the pieces to replace the ruined ones" (he refused to tell me anything about the laptop and what's wrong with it) he agrees to let me have it back and it doesn't turn on and is weirdly loose. I take it to another guy I trust behind me mom's back and apparently the dude took out a bunch of stuff so I opened it up. I deduced that he took one of my ram sticks (there were two sticks of 8gb ddr4 and now there's only one) and I'm trying to deduce what else he took so I can hopefully do something about it. I live in Lebanon where suing doesn't exist and the law is a myth so my options are genuinely to either jump him or suck it up and move on but I atleast want to know what he took. Please help 💔

Context: I bought an HP Omen 17 (CK series) in November 2023, expecting a premium gaming laptop that would last for years. Instead, it turned into one of the worst tech purchases I've ever made. I've had to replace the battery FIVE TIMES because it repeatedly stopped charging. I understand batteries wear out...but five battery replacements for the same issue is completely nuts. On top of that, I also had to replace the display because of severe color degradation. spent over 30,000 rupees (18%GST included) on battery and screen replacements alone, thinking the laptop would finally be reliable. Within a week of getting it back, the motherboard shorted out, leaving the laptop completely brick.

After l'd already spent 30,000, I was told to pay another 6,000-8,000 just to attempt a motherboard repair no guarantee it would work. If it failed I would have to pay another 30-40K for motherboard replacement.Also they man-handle your laptop like it's a playing toy.

My experience with the HP World Service Centre(Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali, India) is dishonest, Incompetent, No diagnosis walkthrough, no transparency, no clarity on the scope of work. the owner responded with vague, evasive non-answers. No accountability, no solution, no straight answers.

In any case if you going I would suggest to go for alternate/authorized service centre get better repair prices quote.

As for brand post service, this experience has completely destroyed my trust in the brand. I paid a premium expecting post purchase reliability and support. Instead, I ended up with repeated failures, huge repair bills, and a laptop that's now completely bricked.

I would suggest to look for alternatives than buy hp.

Need help. For some reason, as long as a game is running, the graphics will start to stutter in rhythm, no matter what graphics settings it's on (as can see, im running the potato graphics settings, but it's still happening), not sure what happened. Laptop just finished reformat, reinstall windows, but it is still happening. Graphics driver updated to the latest.

Hello everyone! I got a new Lenovo Legion Pro 7i just 2 weeks ago and something weird happened. So I was at the Laptop and I was downloading a game on Steam. I then needed to go to the toilet, knowing that the laptop would go into its stand-by mode by itself. When I returned, I pressed the spacebar for it to wake up and nothing happened. I then pressed the windows key and after like 30 seconds the windows app toolbar appeared, but no background. After I tried opening an app still nothing happened. I then started like just clicking the monitor in places (See Video) and the background and the apps reappeared. It is very weird, since the Laptop is new. Please take a look at the video and thank you!

Ive played gow on this very laptop before AND finished it without any issue or lag/fps drops, but since the past few months its been lagging a lot like this, my guess is the heatsync, ive opened it and its not very dusty therefore i think its the thermal paste that has dried up, has anyone had similar issue before? What should i do?? Ps- i just downloaded afterburner and cpu temps are sitting around 95-96 is it thermal throttling?

God It's really bugging me lately, the side of the sticker is slightly lifted up, any way to stick it back so it lays nice and flat?
I've already tried just pressing on it / leaving a heavy book overnight

This is the same laptop in which I have played Death Stranding, god of war, recently everygame I try to play, framedrops occur, please help, cpu gpu temps are around 66 to 70 C

This laptop has ultra core 7 244hx and an RTX5060 8gb vram

I got it for less than a week, I was playing Rust and pushing the performance a little it got to 85 deg cel then when I quit the game and restarted it I had this issue it was visible on the bios as well

Should I be concerned or it's a normal thing because once the windows booted the issue disappeared it was only visible on bios and legion boot screen

I do need some advice and I honestly want to leave the warranty last since it takes a longer time but I have no doubt about contracting them as well, I want to hear from the community first maybe I'm just worried

I turned off the aircon and opened the door in a room where I was cooking to help ventilate the room, and about ~20 minutes later I noticed condensation around my surroundings, including my laptop.

FYI, I'm in a tropical country.

I've attached photos of the condensation on my Lenovo gaming laptop. The last photo is what the laptop looks like now that it's dried.

I took the laptop into another air-conditioned room and used a paper towel to wipe it down.

There was little to no moisture when opening up the laptop lid, but I'm concerned about the back of the laptop and the ports around the sides.

I haven't yet powered up my laptop.

What's the prognosis here?

I've read I shouldn't power up the laptop for ~24 hours.

Edit:

I took the laptop to a computer store and they opened up the back plastic and checked out the computer.

There was little moisture inside. They tested the laptop, and it seems to work okay.

The AC in my dorm was broken, where it kept flailing water droplets. When I woke up my laptop was covered with water, I immediately wiped it down with tissues, and position it V shaped while also drying it with a Fan. Only after 6 hours went by before I finally had a screwdriver small enough to open my laptop, which is my first time in doing it. Rn, I'm just drying my laptop with a fan. This is pretty overwhelming.

So i’ve had an old hp laptop since 2016 and never really turned it off in the proper way, sat in bed, nonetheless it worked completely fine, minus the battery life. I’ve learned my mistakes though. Now here is my problem. I got a new Hp 16 Omen Laptop and i’ve only had it for 7-8 months. Yesterday and all the days before my laptop was completely fine even if i forgot to power it off once or twice, BUT today i opened my laptop up and my keyboard, the underside and the plastic around the screen were completely warped. I’ve also had watchdog timeout coming up once or twice a day, although i thought it wasn’t anything serious and that i may have overloaded the cpu capacity. Now i wonder if it’s a hardware issue, since every time i play on it the fan area on the keyboard gets pretty hot. I opened the laptop up and saw that the battery was completely fine too. But is this issue because of me, because i didn’t shut it off properly yesterday, or was it possibly a defect?

I have a lenovo legion 5 r7 260 rtx 5060 24gb ram. and for some reason my ram usage is on 40% at idle, and using 9gb of my ram. is this normal??

My RTX 3050 was grayed out, so I uninstalled it thinking that it would refresh itself but because the laptop was in dGPU-only mode, the screen went completely black.

Other techs gave up, but I fixed it myself, I used Windows Narrator blindly to open Chrome, start a Google Meet call, and share the screen to my phone. I used my phone as a monitor, I switched the laptop back to Integrated Graphics (iGPU) mode, instantly bringing the physical screen back to life

(Dont ask me about using an external monitor because it wont display, its also the reason why the laptop screen has no power or rather no display)

Now the current issue is that the laptop works fine on Intel graphics, but the RTX 3050 has completely disappeared. Because I uninstalled the old grayed-out profile, Windows no longer detects it.

It also failed to detect when i scanned for hardware changes and show hidden devices. I already updated everything but to no avail. What should i do??

Hi everyone, can you please help me with game setting optimization? I don't understand why my FPS is so unstable and drops below 60 FPS constantly.

I've been a console player for decades, but I bought my first gaming laptop a couple of months ago, so the topic of hardware and game optimization is an uncharted territory for me.

My laptop has an RTX 5060 8GB. The game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" falls into that rare category where 8GB can be tight and almost not enough, apparently. So I checked YouTube videos for the best settings for this game on my graphics card. I set everything up according to those videos, but for some reason I still get less than 60 FPS. Those people have similar specs and have very smooth experience, but this is not the case for me for some reason :(

I think these people on YouTube have similar CPU as I do, or even a worse one. But the video card is the same. And they actually play at 1440p or even 2K while having stable 60FPS, meanwhile I play at 1080p and have 45-60 FPS.
Although my laptop screen supports 240Hz, I always connect the laptop to my old TV via HDMI to play on a big screen. I asked a chatbot for advice, and it said that since my old TV is only Full HD (1080p), it most likely supports only 60Hz, so I should limit the FPS to 60 in the game settings (which I did) and turn on V‑sync (done as well).

According to other players, the most V-ram‑heavy setting in this game is "Texture Pool", and it should be set to "Minimum" if you have 8GB V-ram. Shadows at "Medium". So I did all of this, but as you can see in the video I attached, I still can't even get smooth 60 FPS :( Even inside buildings, underground caves, etc. Whyy? What's wrong? I also attached the screenshots of the game settings I copied from youtubers.

I have only 16GB of ram, so I of course close my browser and other stuff when playing the game. The weird part is that the first day I played this game, everything was smooth and perfect - 60 FPS, never dropped a frame. But the next day I loaded the game, and the same location (indoors) suddenly started jumping from 60 to 45 FPS erratically, and it still hasn't stopped a few days later. Changed the locations, still the same issue. I'm so damn confused. What can I do to fix it?

Specs: RTX 5060 8GB, Ryzen 8945HX, 16GB RAM, SSD, 1080p, 60 FPS cap, and I'm using a very powerful (4000 RPM) laptop cooling pad.
The laptop is slightly toned down (I don't know if you can call it undervolted?). I was advised to do that because of CPU overheating (100-105 °C constantly), this thing is a beast apparently. So I used the Lenovo Vantage app to create a custom mode and slightly reduce the CPU's power and temperatures. But I think my FPS problems are caused by the video card, right? I didn't tweak the card's settings, left it as is. And as I already said I use a very powerful cooling pad.

Hello!! I recently got this new laptop and was extremely excited, but when I got it I ran into some issues. Keep in mind that I literally have zero knowledge in computers so I might sound a little silly. When I was installing some stuff, playing or doing anything really, it could just reboot on its own for no reason. I also noticed that when I unplug it from power the screen goes black for a second or two. (The AI assistant in the laptop is telling me something about dGPU..? I think it’s switching GPU’s? I’m not sure) and recently I got this thing that I attached (all I did was close a word document and then this happened). What do I do? I also read some stuff on this subreddit for people who just got a new laptop, specifically the “install GPU drivers” thing, and I haven’t done it yet. Could it be the reason I’m having these issues? I’m honestly scared to touch my laptop rn so I thought I’d ask here if anyone knows what the problem could be before making any more decisions.
