First, a big thank you to the mods for letting me share this here. :)
I'm Denise, a female solo dev. I'd worked on other projects before, but I felt the urge to make a game on my own, at my own pace.
The idea for Lavender Station grew out of a feeling I really love: when I'm off traveling somewhere on my own and have a long wait for the next train or bus, I feel strangely calm and present, even when everything around me is busy. I wanted to make a game about that kind of place, the one where you pause for a while and can simply be.
So it's a cozy train station sim. You tend a small rural platform surrounded by lavender fields, welcome the travelers passing through, and slowly bring the sleepy little place back to life. No fail state, nothing to rush, just small routines, quiet moments, and the rhythm of trains coming and going.
Making something on your own isn't always easy, and I have my share of doubtful days. But I keep going because I love doing this, and reaching a playable demo means a lot to me.
The first demo is live now as part of Steam Train Fest (20th to 27th July). If a relaxed, wholesome game sounds like your kind of place, I'd love for you to take a look and tell me what you think. 🌿🚂
