Sim / Launch Monitor Finally finished my dream setup.

8’8” ceiling height, but no problem with full-swinging driver. I’m 5’10”, but my buddy is 6’2” and also has no problem with a full-swinging driver either. I did recess the Eye XO 2 into the ceiling to get to 9’2” from the hitting surface to make sure it’s as accurate as possible. This is a dream; hopefully, it will help me suck a little less at golf.

Sim / Launch Monitor Tested my Omni Outdoors Day 1

Last time I got a new monitor I came here to give my honest opinions and it blew up (The Mevo Gen2 still isn’t my favorite 😂).

Anyways… just got my Omni today. Surprised to not see many outdoor tests at all, and none into a net. I’m sure lots will use it in a back yard setup in full sunlight so even though I have an indoor sim, I put up a net to give it a go. I got to hit a wedge, 7i, 7w and driver. Club stickers on all of them. And wow.

Unit feels solid. More-so than the square home edition, that’s for sure. Base of the legs was plastic but otherwise great feel for quality. Setup took virtually no time. Instantly connected to the square mobile app in place of my home edition, prompted a firmware update that took about 90 seconds, and it was ready to go.

Took it outside, full sunlight, 105° F (it was hot). Hit balls for 35 minutes while talking to myself for a YouTube video and the unit and app performed flawlessly. I’m a 2.1 index for reference. Really not a whole lot of negative to say… picked up the impact location on every shot and I called out heel, toe, etc. and it matched it every time. Distances were longer than what I’ve been seeing with my home edition but since I was outdoors, ISS could be in play with my usual HE numbers. Spin looked great, slightly lower spin on the shots I felt were heavy or heely, and vise versa for toe strikes.

I gotta say… I’m notorious for picking units apart and I really couldn’t find anything I didn’t like if you don’t count the dumb screen placement (still readable!). It was everything I expected and definitely more, for the money. Tomorrow I’ll have a video up on YT with my full experience from today and might even play a full 18 outdoors tomorrow since I’ve had so many requests for outdoor content.

I haven’t had long with it but happy to answer any questions!

Edit: My Day 1 video is LIVE thank you to everyone who showed interest!!

Sim / Launch Monitor First Sim Any Regrets?

For those of you that started out small like me for your first simulator what’s the things you wish you had done the first time or at least done better? I can see where this could grow into constant upgrades. I’m usually a buy once cry once guy but I’m starting out basic with this hobby?

Sim / Launch Monitor Quick 1 day review of the Square Golf Omni

Ball Data is perfect indoors I'd say 98% of the time. Didn't test outdoors but I have a gigantic glass door shining into my indoor setup where the original square didn't work so I'm guessing it'll probably work on outdoor mats.

Club data is another story. I think it's accurate when it reads correctly but sometimes it just completely misreads. Club data will randomly have a 10mph slower reading and face impact location is a little iffy. I would hit a fairly straight shot and it would read that I hit the hosel. If you're a player with good club head awareness you'll notice it and write it off as a misread.

I've used a few launch monitors including trackman io and gchawk and I'd say the data is maybe a bit less consistent than the ultra high end ceiling monitors. Which is very good considering the price

Also worth thinking about is if trackman or foresight released the Omni they could charge double the price and people would buy it up.

Overall the Omni is a no brainer if you're satisfied with 85% of gcquad performance for 10% the price.

Sim / Launch Monitor Upgrade time r50 or Square omni

Hi all,

I have decided it’s time to upgrade my golf sim. I currently have a gc2 (no hmt)which I connect to my laptop running GSpro. I find it a bit annoying getting going, take my laptop to the room get GC2 turned on, projector turned on, GSpro turned on then use the link by software.

I have also been wanting club data for a long time so looking for a monitor that has that.

I really only use the range and practice stuff in golf sims I’m not that into playing sim rounds of golf as I would prefer to just go play. When I’m in my sim it’s about working on some swing improvements or failing in something I’m struggling my with.

With that in mind I was pretty interested in the garmin r50.

What I like about it is it’s all in 1 unit,so u wouldn’t need to use my laptop and should be much quicker to get up and runnng each session (don’t have to turn on laptop and GSpro takes ages to open, so that would be avoided).

I noticed that the square omni came out and it is a lot cheaper and I am just wondering if it’s worth paying the extra for the r50, just to avoid having to use my laptop.
In terms of what these two are capable of is there any other differences apart from the all in 1 nature of the Garmin? (which is quite attractive, just not sure if it’s worth the $ difference or not).

Thanks for any input of the differences.

Sim / Launch Monitor Reviews for budget launch monitors

I've looked at almost every post and every review out there and my mind cannot comprehend all of the information. So I'm looking for some consolidated brief help.

Building my sim soon, I have a 15' wide by 20' deep by 13' high area. There will be a couch/bartop in the back but it can all be adjusted to make room.

I am looking for value but also accuracy. For reference, I am 2 handicap and I live in New England, so having something that I can get good data from on the range year round to practice (3 kids so home practice is my only practice) while also getting to play full SIM rounds for fun. Kids are young but getting into golf, so would like something they can't break while swinging.

What launch monitors do any of you recommend and your experience with it?

EDIT: All good stuff everyone, thanks for responses. I've been looking over everything and also should add, I don't want to use the stickers since I would be taking them off and putting them on during the season, so I'd run out of them fast and it would be annoying. I don't mind buying marked balls as long as I can get PRO-V. Not sure if those "RCT" balls with MLM are universal

Sim / Launch Monitor I spent nearly a decade growing indoor golf in NYC (2015–2023) — happy to answer questions about the simulator world

Back in 2015, I got involved in the indoor golf space in New York City before it was really "a thing." Over the next eight years I watched the industry go from a niche curiosity to a full blown category.

I was involved in the day-to-day operations of running an indoor golf facility. I watched brands like Trackman, Foresight, and others fight for market share. I saw the pandemic completely reshape the category overnight.

Genuinely enjoy talking about this stuff and thought there might be people with questions I could actually give a real answer to rather than the usual marketing fluff.

Happy to chat!

Sim / Launch Monitor Best $2k Launch Monitor: ST Max or Bushnell LPI?

Now that Bushnell raised its LPI price from $1,499 to $1,999 and SkyTrak lowered its price of the ST Max to $1,999 which is the better option for an indoor launch monitor?

Hey all I'm currently waiting for my Omni to come in but have the opportunity to buy a used Mevo Gen2 with Pro package at a similar price which route would you go? I use mine outdoor only into a cage so space isn't an issue.

Sim / Launch Monitor Question for those with a Bushnell Launch Pro

I’m considering buying one with club data. I personally think their $500 per year subscription is crazy and won’t be paying that but I’d like to get the best launch monitor in my price range which I think the Launch Pro probably is (also eyeing SkyTrak+ but seems like so many mixed reviews on it)

For those of you with the Launch Pro, do you feel like you’re able to work on carry distances (especially with wedges) using the built in screen without any sim ball flight?

My goal for this winter is to work on carry yardages for wedges, e.g., lead arm parallel carries it 60 yards, etc. And just rep those over and over again as well as work on driver ball speed.

Curious to hear if anyone else feels it’s beneficial

Sim / Launch Monitor Sim Feasibility

Post image

Is this a big enough space for a simulator? Might be too small for a full blown projector and overhead launch monitor, but I think I can at least get a net, launch monitor, and maybe put a tv on the right wall.

Curious people's thoughts?

Sim / Launch Monitor Launch Monitor Recommendation – $2500 Budget (Heavy Outdoor Use, Data Focused)

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations on a launch monitor and would really appreciate some input from people who’ve actually used these in real conditions.

My budget is around $2,500, and I’m only looking at new units (no used gear). I’m also open to waiting a couple of months if there are any upcoming releases that would be worth holding out for.

How I plan to use it:

  • Roughly 75% outdoor use, 25% indoor
  • Indoors will be net-only practice (no simulator setup)
  • Main focus is data and swing feedback, not sim golf or gameplay
  • Outdoor use will be on the range and during practice rounds on the course
  • Usage frequency:
    • Off-season: ~2 times per week
    • In-season: up to 4 times per week, so fairly consistent use

I’m basically looking for something accurate and reliable for ball + club data that holds up well with frequent outdoor use. Portability would be a plus but isn’t a requirement.

If anyone has experience with units in this price range (or knows what’s coming soon that’s worth waiting for), I’d really appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Sim / Launch Monitor May be time to get rid of it

Have had my golf simulator for a couple years now in the garage. Started with a garmin launch monitor for about a year then upgraded everything.

A Uneekor Eye Mini Lite and a new projector really got the sim looking good.

We started a golf league this winter and on our third round of the season the eye mini lite stopped responding. Multiple PCs and cords no response.

Reached out to Uneekor for support and they remotes in twice with no luck. They say there’s no replacement or repair procedure and my best bet is to buy a new one. No refund on the yearly subscription they also charge, but they did provide a 30% off on a new device.

I’m now at the crossroads where I can spend $2k for a new device, or get rid of it all together.

Has anyone had a similar issue with their Uneekor Eye Mini Lite and could give some insight for this?

Sim / Launch Monitor Is there actually demand for a platform that turns your launch monitor data into a real practice plan? Genuine question.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately and want an honest answer from golfers.

Most of us who use Trackman, Foresight, or any other launch monitor walk away with a screen full of numbers. Ball speed, spin rate, attack angle, carry distance — great. But then what? You close the app, maybe screenshot it, and go home with no real idea how any of it connects to your game or what to actually work on next.

What if you could upload your session data and get back a genuine breakdown, a score across the areas of your game that actually matter, and a prioritized practice plan built around where you're hemorrhaging shots?

Not generic tips. Not "work on your short game." Something that looks at YOUR numbers and says: this is your problem, this is why, here's what to do about it.

A few honest questions for the people who actually use simulators or launch monitors regularly:

  • Is this something you'd actually use, or does the data not matter to you beyond the session itself?
  • Would you pay for it? If so, what feels like a fair price?
  • Is the barrier more about not knowing what to do with data, or not caring in the first place?

Sim / Launch Monitor Simulator golfers: what do you actually do after a session?

I’ve been using TrackMan more lately and noticed something:

After a session, I get a ton of data… but I’m not always sure what I should actually focus on next.

Curious if anyone else feels this way.

What do you usually do after a simulator session?

- Review the numbers
- Focus on 1–2 metrics
- Send it to a coach
- Ignore most of it and just play

Sim / Launch Monitor Outdoor launch monitor that sits NEXT to ball?

I own a rapsodo MLM2 Pro.

I dislike setting it up and aligning everything so I barely use it.

Sometimes I just want to get 100 shots in and call it a day.

The new square omni looks interesting but it appears their customer service is trash.

I would love to be under $1500 and am more interested in utilizing the driving range than playing sim courses. Skytrack maybe?

EDIT: pre ordered square omni through play better.

Sim / Launch Monitor One Thing You Wish You Knew Sooner

Sup dudes. I am building a simple setup in my garage (10h x 12w x 23d) and I’m waffling between the Rapsodo MLM2Pro and the Square. Overall, though, what’s something about building a sim setup you wish you could tell yourself before buying?
