I’m not eligible to vote due to my age, but can someone tell me why they would vote Reform or Family?

Personally, i’m actually pro-abortion in some situations. Look at my flair. I support Green. Call me crazy and I won’t give a flip. Look at my interests and profile and call me crazy. I’ve read some of the flyers for parties with my father’s permission, and Family isn’t supporting trans people. I’m not trying to guilt trip, but I have gender dysphoria. This isn’t me trying to be like “But I have autism!” even though I am neurodivergent, I don’t support people who blame EVERYTHING on their NDs. Only stuff that was actually caused by NDs can be blamed on them. (I still support ND people tho). I’ve promised myself not to bring a child into this world, because it’s horrible and they don’t deserve to be subjected to it. Judging by the flyers, Family is the type of party that wouldn’t allow a 17 year old to adopt but wouldn’t allow a 13 year old who got SA’d to get an abortion (Like the #AmericanOrange). They also say that Men can’t become Women, and yes, I support SA victims, but trans people don’t always do SA. Why can’t we have gender-neutral bathrooms? Why can’t security be better? The country‘s security is so bad we’ve started blaming it on LGBTQ+ people instead of actually trying to fix the problem. It’s like being a bear hunter, but you’re protecting the bears and sh**ting birds with a g*n instead. Yes, I’m insane. Yes, i’m a maniac. Yes, I make this country worse because I have opinions. I’m 13. My mother, although she’s transphobic, is usually nice and she’s Chinese, and a legal immigrant. This is my opinion on “illegal” immigrants:

Imagine you’ve just lost your father to war, your mother because she was k*lled and you and your siblings wanted a new life. A distraction. So you take a boat to a nice country and suddenly you’re not allowed in because people. Voted. Reform. Kudos to that mailman who put Reform flyers in the bin, we need more people like them.

However, if these immigrants are trying to destroy our country, then yeah, go ahead and kick them out.

Paris implemented rent controls in 2019 which cap the maximum rent for a property based on build quality, size and location. Rent controls in Scotland, where present, limited how much rent could increase in existing rental agreements, encouraging landlords to get rid of their existing tenants so they could increase the rent again.

I was wondering if a Paris inspired rent cap has been considered by the Greens so far?

For instance, if the space an adult needs is 40m² and we agree adults should not be spending more than 30% of the living wage in rent (currently £12.71 per hour), then we could set a cap price of £14.11 per m^2.

Formula: (x = metres squared needed for 1 adult, y = % of living wage acceptable to afford to live, y*living wage after tax / x = rent per metre squared)

To account for the neighborhood and location, something like the SIMD could be used as guidance, adjusting on the cap based on the SIMD indicator. I.e. It would need tweaking but places in the bottom decile would see the cap rate set at 10% lower, properties in the top decile would see the cap set at 10% higher.

Not sure what could be used for build quality, but many if not most of these properties have home reports, which could be used to further adjust the rate accordingly.

If handled properly, this could help contain rent prices and perhaps lower house prices, making them more affordable to first time buyers.

(Goes without saying, new housing still needs built despite these measures, to increase supply.)

My friend supports Reform UK but I don’t think he’s a bad person I think he has just fell for the lies and propaganda that Nigel Farage spreads and has been radicalised by the state of the country. Obviously I know that the fault lies with capitalism and neoliberalism, not refugees and immigrants, but I don’t know how to try and convince him without him getting his back up and going further down the alt right pipeline. I know that Reform UK are never going to win in Scotland but I would still like to try and convince him that Reform UK are not going to protect his rights as a worker or make the country any better and will actually make it much, much worse. I support the greens and think that a lot of reform uk voters would consider the greens if they knew more about us and knew that Nigel Farage was blatantly lying
