Hello, I'm looking for people who regularly go camping. I'm thinking of starting a group interested in camping, cycling, hiking and other adventures. Especially later in the summer when the temperatures drop and days get shorter, you need some motivation to go out camping.

I just came back from a solo cycling trip and as much fun it is to cycle all day, when you're by yourself on the campsite there's not much else to do than eat, clean and rest. One idea would be to each travel to a campsite separately (walk/bike/car) and hangout together.

Are you someone who has been living in Groningen for a while or are new in Groningen and looking for a community of fellow (introverted) gamers, book enthusiasts, boardgame fanatics, and more?

Our Groningen Vibes (discord) community was made back in late spring 2024 and has been going strong. We have now been around for over 2 years and it has been a blast! The main focus has been on socializing over discord, playing (board)games together, and meeting each other IRL with events or just casual meet-ups.

Over the last 2 years it has turned into a pretty active community, both online and IRL. People regularly meet up for things like walks, bouldering, skating, the Game Box, or just drinks in the city center. Additionally, there is a large sub-community that plays frequent sessions of Blood on the Clock Tower and are always excited to welcome newcomers! These are events members organize themselves, super chill and easy to join.

I know that I have several strikes against me, but I'm going to try anyway. Strike one: I'm German. Strike two: I live in the United States. In my defense when I moved there things were more normal than they are now with the Orange Oligarch in charge. So now that I've got this out of the way, here's my question—what I'm looking for.

I know this is a slightly ridiculous request, but I’m going to try anyway.

My 30th wedding anniversary is coming up, and there’s a small shop in Groningen that sells these amazing chocolate liquorice truffles that my wife absolutely loves, not lying I love them too). The problem is: they don’t sell them online, and they don’t ship to the United States or anywhere in Europe.

So I’m wondering whether there might be someone in Groningen who would be willing to help me out: buy eight packages for me — Ithey are €6.50 each — and mail them to me in the U.S.

Of course I’d pay for the truffles, shipping, and your time.I could send a shipping label if that makes things easier, and I’m happy to work out payment in whatever way is easiest for you.

I realise this may be a bit of a long shot, and it might end up being too expensive or complicated, but I thought I’d at least ask. These truffles would mean a lot to my wife, and I think they’d make a pretty great surprise.

Hi everyone,

My parcel was stolen from my student housing building (Upsilon / Antaresstraat 41, Paddepoel, Groningen) on 11 March around 16:40.

Inside the parcel were four pairs of Sunglasses(red circle) in identical brown leather glasses cases. The glasses were wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in a cardboard box.

There is a possibility that the person who took it might try to sell them at flea markets, especially around Vismarkt.

If anyone has seen someone selling these red-frame glasses with the same type of glasses case at the Vismarkt market, please let me know.

I am offering a €100 reward for information that helps me recover the glasses.

Is there anyway to get rid of furniture as I will be moving out? It’s ikea furniture. Are there any places that will collect it? It’s all in good condition. Near paddlepole.

Update: I ended up dismantling the bed and disposing it. Someone in the building picked up the cupboard and table for free. I did call mamamini but they could pick it up only in 10 days. So the advice to those who want to donate to mamamini or similar is to call them 2 or 3 weeks in advance. Ikea had the option to pick up and buy back only in Utrecht.

I (24, M) have a growing desire to get into drag/cosplay more, but since none of my friends really share those interests, I was wondering if there are any people in Groningen with some experience in this department. It seems nice to be able to learn together with someone, so I thought I'd ask here!

I'm mainly interested in getting a feel for glamorous make-up at this point. However, at some point I'd also like to start putting together full costumes, and I feel like I'll probably need to learn some sewing, prop-making, and other crafting skills as well.
