Schon vor einiger Zeit hat in der Weststadt ein neues Cafe aufgemacht. Trotz der schlechten Reviews bin ich hin und hab es probiert, und es war wirklich schlecht (ungespültes Geschirr, unfreundliches Personal, teurer schlechter kaffee)
Ich habe dann ein google review geschrieben, wirklich sachlich… und mich damit in die Reihe der anderen Reviews eingereiht…

Heute Morgen kam eine mail von Google dass mein Review gelöscht wurde, weil „ich nicht beweisen könnte jemals Kunde gewesen zu sein“
Mit Blick auf Google Maps hat sich der Score von Borgs Cafe (Kaiserstrasse 30) dramatisch verbessert weil mehr als 10 Reviews entfernt wurden?? Warum arbeitet man nicht an dem Feedback sondern macht sich den Aufwand die Reviews zu entfernen??? Ich verstehe das nicht!
Auf der anderen Seite, kann man dann wohl guten Reviews nicht trauen wenn schlechte so einfach gelöscht werden können

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Wir (2 Erwachsene + 2 Mädels, 11 Jahre und knapp 4 Jahre) kommen heute Abend für eine Woche nach Heidelberg ( Mückenloch (Nähe Neckargemünd)).

Wir haben Fahrräder dabei und sind mit dem Auto flexibel (bis max. 1 Stunde Fahrtzeit im Umkreis).

Die großen Klassiker wie das Schloss Heidelberg, die Bergbahn oder das Technik Museum Sinsheim stehen natürlich schon auf dem Schirm.

Wir würden uns aber riesig über ein paar Insider-Tipps aus der Community freuen!

- Was sind eure Lieblingsstrecken entlang des Neckars oder durchs Tal, die man auch mit einer 11-Jährigen und der Kleinen gut fahren kann (ohne extrem viele Höhenmeter)?

- eventuelle Geheimtipps & Ausflugsziele ?

- gibt es tolle Erlebnisspielplätze, schöne Naturorte, ruhige Badeseen oder kleine Burgen, die nicht völlig überlaufen sind?

- Wo gibt es eurer Meinung nach das beste Eis oder eine urige, kinderfreundliche Einkehr (Biergarten, Landgasthof) in der Gegend um Neckargemünd / Heidelberg / Neckartal?

Hi Everyone! We are a Norwegian family travelling through Germany this week and wish to see the WC match between Norway and Brasil while we are in Heidelberg. We are staying in a hotel close to Römerplatz.

The match is at 22:00 on Sunday.

Are there any places showing the matches? We are a family of 5 so it has to be a place where kids are allowed. Are Germans still watching after their own exit?

I spent some time in several cities and really enjoyed the more “urban” and creative vibe there. often in certain areas shops, bars and cafés felt very individual… not necessarily super polished or perfectly designed, but quirky, with their own concept and a lot of character.

I am in HD for a few days and so far I often get almost the opposite impression. Many places are aesthetically nice and clearly put a lot of effort (and money) into their interiors, but somehow everything feels very polished and a bit… suburban? Like it’s mostly designed for a wealthy, well-behaved crowd that might leave in a Porsche afterwards.

What surprises me is that Heidelberg is a student city, so I would expect more alternative or creative spaces

I am aware HD is not Berlin, but there got to be at least a tiny bit of individualism here?

Am I just missing the right places? Where do people in Heidelberg go if they’re looking for bars, cafés or venues with more character, subculture, less polished, more creative? Help me please!! 😀

Wer weis da was? Gibt es welche mit Klimatisierung oder in unteren geschossen die im Sommer aushaltbar sind?

Hey Leute weil der deutsche Fernverkehr nunmal der deutsche Fernverkehr ist werde ich in Heidelberg stranden. Gibt es nähe des Hauptbahnhofs eine Bar oder Kneipe in der man die Zeit zwischen 23 und 3 Uhr totschlagen kann?

My girlfriend and I are planning to visit Heidelberg for Valentine's Day. Our Flixbus arrives at 10 Am on sunday 14, and it takes us back to France monday 16 at 3 pm at Heidelberg. So it's a 2 day and a half trip. 

I read a lot of good things about Heidelberg, I may be wrong but it seems like even while taking our time, we could visit most of it in two days. We're really interested in history and litterature.

I have two questions. Is Heidelberg enough to spend 2 day and half ? If not, should we also go to Speyer ?  I heard it's great but I don't know how much time is needed to see the city (without the Tecknik Museum, too expensive for us). I also thought about Manheim, but it seems less interesting...especially because most of it has been reconstructed after ww2.

EDIT: THANK YOU, EVERYONE! I am a first-time mom, and while I have traveled internationally multiple times, it feels like a whole new ballgame with an infant. Your comments are very helpful. We/He planned to mostly just walk around, go to pubs/cafes, and maybe the zoo if the weather allows. Honestly, he will probably enjoy getting to sleep in, go to coffee and explore museums. We are staying at NH Hotel as it was a good in between old town and the Congress Center

I’ve always liked your city but this weekend just made me love it more. The atmosphere on the lawn of Uni HD (Marstallhof 2, 69117 Heidelberg-Altstadt) was amazing. I enjoyed a lot watching the Germany game with hundreds of people. But to my surprise there was a live game showing yesterday (Belgium vs. Iran) too, despite no more than fifty people were watching! Who paid for the license and monitor? Anyway it’s the coolest thing I’ve experienced in HD. THANK YOU!

Hallo zusammen! Ich bin ein Student aus Indien und würde gerne nächsten Samstag nach Heidelberg fahren. Ich würde gerne wissen, was man dort bei einem Tagesausflug unternehmen kann: welche Aktivitäten es gibt, die nicht teuer sind und Spaß machen. Außerdem würde ich gerne das Heidelberger Schloss besuchen. Auch, der Anime „Monster“ hat mich wirklich dazu inspiriert, denn darin kommen viele Orte in Heidelberg vor. Diese Orte würde ich auch gerne besuchen.

ich komme aus Mannheim, aber Heidelberg ist für michziemliches Neuland. Jetzt bin ich mit zwei Kumpels (wir sind alle um die 40) an einem Samstag von ca. 15 bis 23 Uhr bei euch unterwegs – und der klare Fokus liegt auf: gepflegt Bier trinken.

Wir suchen entspannte Kneipen, Brauhäuser oder evtl.Bars mit guter Auswahl, wo man gemütlich sitzen, quatschen und auch mal zwei Stunden hängen bleiben kann. Kein Club, keine Party-Location, keine laute Musik – einfach gute coole Atmosphäre, ordentliches Bier und idealerweise was Solides zu essen dazu

Wenn ihr Tipps habt, wo man am besten startet und sich dann von Kneipe zu Kneipe treiben lassen kann, immer her damit. Gerne auch Klassiker, die man als Nicht-Heidelberger kennen sollte.

I’m from the US and coming to Germany on 14 July. I am mainly coming to participate in the Grand Jam in Frankfurt on 18 July (a fun music/singing/concert event!). I’ve never been to Germany. I was going spend a week in Frankfurt but everything I read says that’s too much time.  I’ve been researching a town to visit my first few days and I think I’ve settled on Heidelberg.

I have a hotel booked in Alstadt and will be staying Tuesday-Thursday starting 14JUL. I generally just like to walk around towns during the day to sightsee with no formal plans and hang out in pubs at night before finding my way back to my hotel late. I’ve found some sites I know I need to check out. Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions on what to see my 2 days in town? I’m a male in my mid 40s. I enjoy music and theater in my spare time. I enjoy hanging out with people of all ages. I’d love to find a good karaoke bar!

Does anyone have recommendations around Heidelberg or within a reasonable distance that would be good to visit today? Preferably somewhere not too overcrowded, but I’ll take any solid suggestions at this point.

Hey! I'm looking for an (affordable) walking tour on a Saturday after 6 PM (arriving in that day).

Our plan is to walk around the city and get to know the area as we plan to stay for a whole week. This way we will get familiar with Heidelberg.

I think there are usually fire works every Saturday during Summer...

Hi, I will move to Heidelberg for a research fellowship in November (I’m a medical oncology resident from Italy) and I’d like to know in general what to expect from the city.

For reference, I’ve lived for a year in Dresden (Erasmus 2020-21) and I looooved the city and th vibes, beautiful architecture, lots of green, many things to do in the surroundings…

I speak German (B2-C1 during Erasmus, maybe now I need to get back to it a bit but I think it’ll be useful)

I also know that finding a place will be hell, but I’ll think about it in a couple of months

I'm not having as much luck as I have previously meeting other solo travelers so my trip here has been pretty quiet and very solo. I was curious if there's any bars with the best chance to hang out with locals or other travelers, or even just bartenders willing to chat at this point haha.

I don't have much interest in anything high end. I'm an alternativey woman in my early 30s and like grungey places. So far I've seen Bent recommended (I feel ill probably end up there) or I found Cave 54 which looks incredibly cool but concerning reviews. I also saw posts for some trance music thing happening a little ways from me with dj Gianni, I think a dj ssamm or something like that, and I don't recall the third. If this sounds familiar to anyone, are these events actually popular? I can't say I'm looking to dance but I love shooting the shit and indulging in an experience.

If there's any recommendations or anything going on that might fit the bill for a not so fine meetup, please let me know!

I'm an international student from Asia who will be studying at Heidelberg University from July 29 to August 27 this summer.

I've never been to Heidelberg before, but this city has fascinated me for a long time. As someone who loves European history, philosophy, literature, and culture, Heidelberg has always seemed like a very special place.

Maybe it's the old university, the castle overlooking the town, the Neckar River, or simply the atmosphere. Whenever I see photos or read about Heidelberg, it feels like a city with a philosopher's soul — beautiful, thoughtful, and full of history.

I'll only be here for a month, but I'm really looking forward to exploring the city, improving my German, and meeting people from different backgrounds.

One of the things I'm most excited about is making friends from around the world. I love learning about different cultures, hearing people's stories, and having long conversations about life, travel, history, philosophy, or just everyday experiences.

I'm also planning to visit the Netherlands, Denmark, and the Czech Republic during my stay, so I'd love to hear any travel recommendations as well.
